Has anyone in ma heard yet?? In waiting nervously for
My
Mailman…

Deferred… im in the same boat as some of you guys, i thought had great stats… 2300 SAT, all As in AP classes, lots of ECs, i thought my essays were great. i don’t know what happened…

yep i also got deferred. 2230 SATs, all As in AP classes, 4.25 weighted (4.06 unweighted) captain and 2 year MVP of my soccer team, lit mag co-editor, well-written essays, and amazing reccomendation…unfortunately stats like that don’t really help you anymore.

also, note that 50% of gtown undergrads are catholic… so many EA spots are filled with kids from catholic schools and sports people

but yeah i’m not upset, i was expecting this. the only thing that sucks is now i have to finish all my other apps which is maddd annoying

Deferred in CT! I’d been nervously stalking college confidential all weekend so at least now I know, and it’s not like I was anticipating being accepted or anything. 2260 SATs and a 3.93 weighted GPA, rough freshman year but after that almost all As in honors and AP classes.

Oh and I applied to the college.

how much do you guys think gtown does affirmative action? i’m super psyched to get in but seeing all the amazing applicants that got deferred i’m a little scared that i only got in for being biracial :(

you can see my stats on the decisions thread (good SATs but ECs are nothing special though they do show focus for SFS)…do you guys think it made a difference?

I don’t think sats are considered all that much… i only had a 2160 and got accepted

Deferred in NJ
2200 SATs, all As in all AP classes, two varsity sports, head of a tutoring program…this sucks

Deferred in MA: 2270; 1540 SAT, FTC Robotics World champion, VP of science team, volunteer at hospice service diligently for 3 years, 4.0 GPA, top 5% of class… :(

It’s pouring here… where is the mail???

constantki, you must have applied to SFS to get deferred with those stats…am I right?

@constanki where in ma??

nothing in michigan.

Is anyone here from Ohio and got their letter today? Or does anyone have any opinion or guess as to if Ohio will get their letters today? lol. I’m pacing my house like crazy

was anyone accepted who had like no community service? because i literally have none, i figure that’s probably a huge black mark on an app for a religious school

Got accepted (in Ohio). Letter says it was really competitive (only 15% accepted).

sorry i meant 101.4286 weighted

congrats wizkid! what papers came with the acceptance? Was it in a regular envelope or a bigger one? lol, sorry for the weird questions, I’m so nervous. Also, what was your application like? With scores and everything I mean, if you don’t mind me asking.

edit: if anyone else who was accepted from any state would like to answer these questions that would be great!

@saman42 no, I applied to the College. I’m pretty disappointed, not gonna lie.
@Languagelover Eastern MA, about an hour north of Boston

It was a regular rectangular envelope lol. One paper was basically congratulating us saying how especially competitive the pool was and that it is a big distinction to be accepted early. Another paper talked about the deposit and upcoming dates (something about an open house, I think).

ACT: 34 Class rank: 1/35 SATII: Spanish: 800; US History: 790; Math II: Find out in two weeks. Pianist, linguist, etc. etc. The interview went well, btw. Middle-eastern American, btw.
