It’s an offer that I can’t refuse!!
I don’t even have a solid acceptance to Georgetown, but still, if it was possible to go to both MIT and Georgetown I would. I wish you all the best of luck!!

Thanks and for curiosity’s sake, what were your stats? I know MIT is a stickler for the most part on test scores (at least they are #1 as far as global averages).

Not to hijack the thread, but anyone willing to help me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1260515-chance-senior-georgetown.html

for all the EA acceptees, did you guys apply for financial aid already? it didn’t specify on the website what the financial aid deadline for EA was, so it should still be okay to send in the CSS profile by 2/1…right?

I didn’t apply for financial aid, either. I think I checked that I was applying somewhere. Can someone verify that we did not miss a deadline? There down the toilet would go any chance of me going to Georgetown lol

The deadline is 2/1 for EA AND RD applicants.
See: [Georgetown University- Office of Undergraduate Admissions](http://www12.georgetown.edu/undergrad/admissions/applying_firstyear_financialaid.cfm)

I would assume that if EA had to apply earlier, they would state so on their website.

was deferred from georgetown early action. 2250 SATs. top 5% of high school. decent extracurricular activities (4 years on school newspaper, mission trip to mexico, played clarinet for 7 years). anyway, i was trying to figure out what type of people are getting admitted and once again this blog kind of helped me out. [College Application Admissions Essay Editing SAT Tutor Tips Blog - What Are My Chances?](http://www.applicationanxiety.com). i think im going to be making some changes to some essays i send out this week.

anyone else feel themselves slacking off on other college application?

Hahah cmc, I wish. However, I am putting more effort into my letter to Georgetown admissions than into all my other application essays combined hahaha

Can deferred students still take the SAT in January? Would Georgetown accept the scores?

Yes, I believe so.

@ wizkid94 I have 2270 SAT (one sitting not superscore), top 10% of class, world champion in robotics, vp of science team, fencer, over 500 volunteer hours (I volunteer at a hospice), I also do math team and other school clubs.

World champion. Legit.

if we send in our financial aid forms in january, does anyone know when ea applicants get their aid information? i love georgetown but don’t want to get too obsessed with it before knowing that i can afford it.

I am also curious about that. Does anyone know how their merit grants work? I read somewhere that they give small merit grants as part of financial aid to outstanding financially-needy students.

Our tour guide stressed that Georgetown offers no merit aid of any sort. I think money is given out on a need-only, merit-blind basis.

Wizkid I think you are thinking about Georgetown Scholarship Program

[Georgetown Scholarship Program | We Invest in Futures](http://gsp.georgetown.edu/)

“By receiving a 1789 Scholarship, a student is admitted into the Georgetown Scholarship Program, where they have access to a vast alumni network, career and academic help, mentorship programs, and campus support.”

What is a 1789 Scholarship and how does one get it?

MERRY CHRISTMAS my georgetown cc family! :)

Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah everybody! :)
