Probably the 30 ACT

So… how much do Georgetown’s standards change the second time around? Is my chance higher than it was for EA? Does getting deferred EA help or hurt my chances this time around?

can anyone chance me as well?

Good luck everyone

do ya guys have some way of checking the status of your application… i sent in my application early but have not received any confirmation of receipt…

I’m sorry for my constant posting about the day we will receive our letters, but I really would like my letter before I leave for my break.

So we know that last year the date on the letter was the Friday and this year for EA it was Friday the 9th. What if the letters are printed on the Friday and put in the mail to travel on Saturday. Mail travels but is not delivered on Sundays which would explain why no one received a letter today or for EA from the metro area and also explain why people from the metro area received their letters on the same day, that next Monday, as the rest of the east coast.

What do y’all think?

so nervous!!

^don’t be nervous. Never stop smiling.

after being deferred in EA what are my chances for RD? Less or better?

@mdee Definitely not better. Since they don’t reject ANYBODY EA, definite rejections were also deferred (e.g. a 2.0 straight-C student) so being deferred doesn’t mean anything. And I believe the statistic is something like less than 10% of deferred EA applicants will get in RD.

Usually about 10% of deferred applicants are accepted RD (I think that’s what the deferral letter said, but the admissions website says around 15%), so your chances are slightly lower, but not by too much.

But that’s considering the straight C students who were deferred. If you were on the brink of admissions for EA, your chances aren’t lower after being deferred. You are simply treated as part of the RD round. It’s not like the have a separate pile of deferred EA applicants and only take 10% of them.

The GT rep who came to visit my daughter’s school said that EA acceptances are those students that they absolutely know they would accept based on 3 years of high school grades. He said many times they really want to wait and see first semester senior grades. It could just be a convenient line, but I think there’s hope!

Tomorrow anyone? I think it’s possible. Post if you do or do not get something in the mail, I’ll do the same.

I also think that today is a very possible day for decisions.

they said we would be notified on monday and released a “few days before” there’s no way it’s coming today

I agree with chaldo- it says very specifically on the website that decisions will be sent just before the 2nd to arrive on that date and that internationals will be informed around the 2nd by email as well.

Is there any reason people are speculating that decisions could be released today?

^Maybe, but as for arriving today, got nothing here in NJ.

People were speculating that it would arrive today because last year the decisions arrived on the 26th.
