<p>Unfortunately, tuition is only a small part of the cost. The Adams scholarship is worth $857 for this coming Spring semester (I looked at the bill I just got).</p>

While technically true, it is important to know that in-state tuition is only $1714/year, and the fees are around $11,000/year. The Adams scholarship does not cover any fees.</p>
<p>Of that $11,000 in fees, about $8800 is a “curriculum” fee, a.k.a. tuition.</p>
<p>Yes we do things in a very messed up way in Massachusetts…</p>
<p>Also, being in the Honors college will cost you an extra $500/year in fees, and being an engineering major will cost you an extra $320/year in fees.</p>
<p>Dorm, meals, health service, etc. add another $10-12k.</p>
