Accepted in December with a 3.22 GPA and 1840 SATs! I also got a $3,500 scholarship as well. UMass is definitely one of my top schools but a lot of my friends are thinking about going there too. I really want a fresh start for college and don’t really want to go with any of my high school friends. What do you guys think? Is UMass big enough to not see my high school friends and to be able to start fresh in college? Do you guys think that UMass is worth going to even though like three of my best friends from high school arenseriously considering it? Any feedback would be awesome and greatly appreciated!

^ Are you OOS?

My S is in-state, he generally only sees one kid who he went to high school with, and that’s because they have the same major.

If your best friends are there, it may be harder to make a clean break, unless you want to tone down the friendship.

Notrichenough, yes, I am out of state and from New Jersey. I love my friends but I just don’t want to be best friends with them in college. I’d rather branch out and make new friends and other best friends from college. I wouldn’t mind seeing my high school friends ever once in a while but I just don’t want to be tied down to them and not make as many other friends at college.
