Class of 2016 from Nepal

guyz...seems a bit early...bt i know very least about US college app...so plz Helpppppp....

i hav now completed all my A level xams…now from where should i get started?..USCF??what does they tell us about?..
n ya…what should i register first …SAT or TOEFL???

Well, for starters, you should go to USEF, not USCF. Unless, USCF is some new place since I left. and register for SAT first. TOEFL is a piece of cake that you can eat in 2 hours

lol…i got it wrong…well i went there(USEF…hhaha)…bt do they register for SAT or hav 2 do it by ourselves?..
Will it be fruitful if we go institute for preparing SAT?..if so which one is good?..

n ya which date should i register 4? heard there r 6 dates?..

You gotta register by yourself. Read past forums on how to register. I don’t think going to institutes for preparation’s worth it. but it’s your call.

@cc2016

For the SAT, buy the Official Guide to SAT, 2e by College Board. Practice, and look at explanations from there. I do not recommend any other book for practice, except the Gruber’s guide.

PS: It is against forum policy to write in IM language. Please refrain from using “n” for “and”, “r” for “are”. You might be penalized for such.

Hey Sarba, how much would you call a competitive SAT score?

Over 9000! :p

Well… for the colleges you plan to apply to, I’d say 2200+ would be competitive.
But remember that 730 + 740 + 730 is most likely better than 800 + 800 + 600…
You need to do well in all the sections.

@sarbaraj
is that so?..didn’t know…alright i’ll make sure i don’t do again…
and by the way from where i can get those practice materials?..does usef provide us?..

can’t we get to read the previous threads?..like class of 2013-14…

@cc2016
go to search menu, select search threads and type “class of 2014 from Nepal”. Look for the thread and read it.
