Scheduling season for us is coming and since junior year is critical to everyone, I'm wondering what you guys plan to take. Anyone?

I’m a senior, but I’m bored, so this is what I took junior year. ([url=Sophmore schedules - High School Life - College Confidential Forums]D

how did you self study so much?
im only self studying apes and ap euro and its a pain

By not really studying as much as I should have. I ended up with two 3s and five 4s, which was unfortunate, but at least it was enough to get college credit.

Is anyone doing IB? I’m thinking of taking full IB next year

Planned schedule for next year:
AP US History
AP Chemistry
AP English Language
AP Calculus AB
Water Polo
AP Spanish or some elective probably the latter

I don’t get how anyone can self study an AP, it’s just too much…

ib english hl
ib spanish sl
ib econ sl (actually just micro+macro masked as ib)
ib compsci hl
ib math hl
ib bio hl (phys if they offer it… hopefully)

AP Calc AB (Pre-Calc H if school doesn’t let me skip)
Spanish 4H
APUSH
AP Lang
AP Bio or AP Chem (haven’t decided yet)
APES or Physics H (haven’t decided yet)

Gym and Band are required.

AP Calculus AB (if I manage to test out of precalc)

APUSH

AP Japanese

AP English Lang

Badminton or Piano

APES

Chem (May or may not be required. If not then AP Physics 1)

I’m planning on:

Band
French III
IB History of the Americas
IB Physics SL
IB English HL Yr. 1
IB Math HL Yr. 1
TOK

I’m planning on doing the IB Diploma.

What’s IB History of the America’s like? Does it go into Pre-Columbian times also?

Possible schedule for next year-
AP English Language
AP World History
AP Calc BC
AP Bio
H. Chem
Either: Spanish 5 OR AP Spanish Lang OR Programming 3 (taking AP CS now)

I really can’t choose between the three at the bottom. I want to be a CS major (so programming 3), but I really like Spanish. Taking programming 3 allows me to get an internship, but don’t colleges like you to see you keep up chains in classes (so Spanish)? Anyone want to offer advice?

You’re going to be a junior, right? Couldn’t you take AP Spanish in your senior year?

@Cornball - I really want to major in CS in college, too, so if I were ever given the opportunity to land an internship, I would take it without hesitation. You can always take Spanish senior year, but offered internships for high school students only come once in a blue moon, especially for computer science (since it’s something you need prior knowledge about to contribute to the project at all).

Spanish 4 or AP Statistics
AP US History
AP Psycology
AP Environmental Science or STEM Physics
Advanced Math 3
11th Grade Lang(probably)/ AP Lang (???)

Thanks guys. I didn’t want there to be gap between my Spanish classes, because that means there’s more of a chance of me having a rough start in the class, but it’s probably worth it for the internship.

Projected Schedule

AP US History
AP English Literature and Composition
AP Spanish Language and Culture (Or something else… Suggestions?)
DE @ UF: Discovering Physics (1st Semester) DE @ UF: Intro to Physics (2nd Semester)
AP Calculus (AB or BC whichever is offered)
AP Statistics (Or Band)

AP bio
Genetics H
Pre-calc A
Band
French III H
English III H
AP Environmental Science
US History II H

AP US History
Calc 2/3
AP Physics C
AP Biology
AP Lit
Research
How To Painlessly Kill Yourself 101

Just joking about the last one of course. Still not sure what my 7th class will be.

Honors comm lit 3
AP gov
Trigonometry
Physics 2
Either chem 2 or bio 2
Gym
Stats (?) we need 4 history credits three of which are lined up American history, world history, and gov. One credit is two different .5 credits history elective. I’m not sure if I should leave these to senior year or if that’s asking for trouble. Any idea? And should I take chem 2 or bio 2?
