[/ul]General Comments: I most likely won’t attend, so hopefully that will open up a spot for someone on the waitlist who really wants to go GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO DECIDES TO GO HERE THOUGH, IT REALLY IS A FANTASTIC SCHOOL :)

thanks, Thehutis! Looking at the stats of everyone who got waitlisted though, I REALLY don’t understand how I got in. Hopefully one of you will get my spot if I go somewhere else :)

I’ll probably end up at the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College. It’s not my first choice (Vassar and Wesleyan are, actually), but it’s free and has lots of perks (like no tuition, free dorms, a mac, blah blah blah). I’d honestly LOVE to go here though. It was the first school I fell in love with.

waitlisted… 33 ACT (35 CR, 34 W, 33 M, 31 S) , 2200 SAT
3.96/4 gpa unweighted

Community Service: Tutor twice a week, Habitat for humanity

Very disappointed that I was wait-listed, as Wesleyan is one of my top choices, and I thought my interview was phenomenal. Maybe it’s because I need a lot of financial aid… Any ideas?

Other Factors:

**General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations, etc: ** Pretty disappointed. I was really hoping to get in, and I can really see myself going here. Oh well. Ive been accepted to Boston College, UMiami, Tulane, full tuition scholarship to URichmond, and rejected at MIT. Still waiting on several more. Congrats to all who have been accepted

Waitlisted? Doesn’t make too much sense, as I was accepted to UChicago with lots of merit money, but I guess college admissions really are a crapshoot. Maybe all of these waitlists are an attempt at yield protection…?

Huntsmen I feel the same way haha. I was accepted to a dual degree program at the University College London and Sciences Po for which there were only ten spots, but then I got waitlisted here. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not putting down Wesleyan as I think it’s a great school and I’m not saying that UCL or Sciences Po are better than it, but it’s definitely surprising. Are you a US applicant to Oxford or are you living in the UK? Either way congrats on getting in! I was going to apply, but the early deadline made me decide not to.

Congratulations to all who got in today! :)

I was waitlisted, and I’m a little shocked. My SAT composite was 2370, and my SAT II scores for Math II and Chemistry were both 800s. I spent two years interning at a research laboratory at Brown University, among a few other programs in the biological sciences. I’m not terribly upset, but I was a little surprised. It’s my first quasi-rejection, so I think it’s good preparation for the wave of letters next week. Sincere congratulations to all thsoe who were accepted!

@ Pupate, maybe they just thought you were using Wes as a safety and would not ultimately attend, given that you are so over qualified. All these schools just care about their damn numbers…

Waitlisted. Huh. I thought I was going to get denied…I probably won’t stay on it, but congratulations to everyone who was accepted! That’s awesome! Good luck to all those who were also waitlisted :)

@ Bandman55, maybe you’re right. I really didn’t feel overqualified, though. I went into this process very humbled and not expecting much at all.

I actually think that it’s for the best that I was waitlisted, since Middletown is a little too rural for me. I guess I’ll have to see what next week has in store for me. I’m sure we’ll all end up where we belong eventually!
