My girl has her first acceptance to Ohio University!!

got my first acceptance today from IU.

Yay mspearl!

Thanks Mizzbee! What a sense of relief! She just hit “submit” to Miami and Hiram sans art supplement. We are waiting for dance teacher rec.& I don’t think the dancing will be a big deal there. She needs it for American, St. Lawrence though.

Barefoot
Congrats on IU! My S was also accepted at IU last week. First reply, so happy it was an acceptance! He has applied to 8, the waiting was killing him. So nice to know he already has one great school to pick from. Did you apply to many others? S applied to mostly Midwest schools, 6 of the 8. Where are you from? We are in the Northeast, S wants out of the region for sure.

I have 10 schools on my list this year. It’s rather unconventional because there are 2 schools located overseas - University of Cambridge (UK) and McGill (in Canada).

Otherwise, the rest of my finalized list includes Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, UPenn, Duke, Northwestern, and Dartmouth. I realize they’re all very competitive. In the worst case scenario, I’d just end up going to McGill since I’m a Canadian citizen. :P

D just accepted to Wittenberg University today! Sorry, I tried to update the list and put my name ahead of Mizzbee - out of order.

Barefoot, Congrats on IU. My daughter heard from them today. Where else are you waiting for?

thank you! i’m from Indiana and I applied to Butler, IU, and Purdue already. Finishing up my applications for Illinois and Vanderbilt. i’ll hear from Butler, Purdue, and Illinois in December. can’t wait!

I have applied to 9 schools already and I can already feel the strain on the wallet. Even though only 3 of the schools had application fees; the test scores and transcript fees do add up. I still have 13 more schools to go; thankfully 8 schools will have fee waivers and 7 of them are UCs so they only take 1 test score for all of them

I’m applying to a school ED, and plenty of others RD. So anxious! But I’ll get in :D

D is now 3 for 3 on her college applications. I’m hoping the trend continues with the final two applications submitted last night to beat the ED deadlines at University of Michigan and Ohio Northern.

S has sent in his first of about 10 apps for ED to Brown. He was really s-l-o-o-o-w-w about it, so I hope he picks up some speed, or he’s not gonna finish!!

^ Congrats to your son! I just submitted my Harvard SCEA application. Now the waiting begins…

Congratulations and good luck to all - it’s our turn now!

One school, one acceptance: University of Utah!! I couldn’t be happier for my sweet, shy, computer nerd girl - they have an entertainment arts and engineering major that’s perfect for her! And we fell in love with Salt Lake. So glad this is all over with!! Onward…

Blah, can’t wait for december and march. Applied to Cornell ED, Columbia, Carnegie Mellon, Rensselaer and SUNY Buffalo Honors.

Hi Parents:

My d is applying to 13 schools, with Pitt and Barnard being her favorites. As nervous as I am about the acceptances/declines, I’m more worried about the financial aid packages…or lack thereof.

Ahhh!!! Everyone’s ahead of me

I’m applying to 15/16 schools.

I applied SCEA to one, rolling to one, and RD to 2 others.

So what’s the deal with the University of Alabama. All of the acceptances are listed individually and not as a unit. Is that some kind of Crimson tide thing?

Applied to Harvard for SCEA.

Am consolidating my RD list of schools and the tentative list is as follows:

Yale
UPenn
Columbia
Princeton (am still not sure about this one)

McGill (canada) is my safety school.
