Class of 2016 Results: Celebrate, Discuss, Support Here

yay got into my first school today  Washington College

Yay er111a! My daughter just got into Washington College, too. :D

D admitted to MS&T, FA package received with maxed out merit OOS aid plus an additional Alumni scholarship. Still waiting on Dept (eng) scholarship info, regional alumni assoc scholarship, SWE, and athletics partial, so Dad is REALLY happy about the way costs are lining up.

Talking to coach on a regular basis to ensure she’s on the team, so she’ll have a built in support system when she hits campus. MST has a great program for keeping the scholar athletes together in the Quad, and focused on education.

A little worried that D is not looking at any other options. I realize she went looking for a FIT, and that’s been met, but should we have an option or two, just in case? Or should I just be happy the process is over early?

My daughter was admitted to Ohio State along with 2 other girls in her class. Her best friends status still says evaluation. I feel so bad for her. I think her act and gpa are putting her right on the border and she will probably be deferred. Ugh.

YAY mspearl–my DD was also admitted to Ohio State! I’m so excited for us
I mean, them! :D

^ we are allowed to be excited too. I am so glad that wait is over!! Such a relief. Does your D think OSU will be where she wants to go? I think my D is leaning that way
but we will see what happens with $.

And I see problems ahead because I am starting to feel like a lac will suit her better. I have to remember it is her life though.

She definitely wants a D1 school (loves the size and sports programs), so in that regard, OSU is right up her alley–it also has a highly-regarded Criminology/Criminal Justice program, which is wonderful (many of the LACs she’s applied to don’t offer her major).

However, we really need some merit money, so a lot will depend on what money comes our way. fingers crossed Also, we haven’t actually visited OSU, so much will likely depend on how my D feels when she visits. We’ve heard amazing things about the school!

Well, watch out when you visit. They know how to sell themselves! Lol. My D has been there twice and when we visited a few weeks ago she must have said this a few times, “this feels right” and “this is where I need to be.” I am just worried about how big it is!

I’m applying to at least 10 schools, and maybe up to 22 if I get around to it.
Three of the EA results should be in by the end of December (I think the 15th will be a big day, but I’m not sure), and the fourth (Binghamton), which was delayed due to the snowstorm, gave me a date: January 23.

My S received his first two acceptances in yesterday’s mail: Loyola Marymount (EA) and U of Missouri (with Mark Twain scholarship attached). Very good news for him, and nice timing with grandparents, uncles, aunts all visiting for Thanksgiving. It’s a huge relief. No matter what happens with the other applications, he WILL be going to college, and it will be a place he likes.

DS got acceptances from University of Portland (waiting to hear on merit aid) and Knox College with a very nice merit scholarship. Feels so good to have a couple of acceptances even though the rest of the apps aren’t finished!

This is my first post
here goes

My D got accepted to Hampton U, UNC-Pembroke, Catawba College & Campbell U
very proud of her.

awesome 1st post, congrats!

Hello! Good news from our house as D has received EA acceptaces to UT Austin McCombs and UGA. Still waiting to hear from two others - in December - as she has decided to trim her list down to 4 from 8. She is hoping to hear soon from UT about her application to the BHP at McCombs, although she’s concerned she has not been contacted for a alumni phone interview yet.

Best of luck to everyone else in the class of 2016!

Good news here! DD received the official letter today from University of New Hampshire - admitted to the Nursing Program!! Her 1st choice, and a scholarship to boot! She is ECSTATIC, and I am just plain relieved! Feeling a glass of wine in my future

Thanks to the wonderful folks at QuestBridge, my D is now Wellesley, Class of 2016. A huge relief, and now I will no longer need to plan a bank heist to send her to a SUNY. She was also accepted to Bama, and I can’t say enough good things about how nice Alabama makes the application process, and their application outreach process.

Congrats Olipond! We have been following another posters QB experience, and am glad to hear about a placement.

Olipond – congratulations, and I hear you re: the bank heist! We’re worrying about the high cost if our S. gets into his first choice schools; even with merit $$, there will still be a substantial cost that will require loans. It’s a conundrum. Fiveteens, wonderful news re: your D – go open the Champagne. Pacn – U of Portland is very generous with merit money. We know several kids who were accepted last year and all received very good offers.

So I have just been informed that I have been accepted to the WUE program at NMT. The irony is that it is cheaper than the UCs
I only have to pay just under $7k for tuition and the housing is cheap. The price ranges from $3k to $6k. It is great to know that there is financial safety in the back pocket. But this is before the other financial aid.

Congrats David
but what is NMT? I’m sorry
too many initials on CC
