Senior Year Course Load: Calculus II (taken at a local college), AP Biology, AP computer science, honors Latin 4, a few others that don’t really matter
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): National Merit Scholarship, Williams College Book Award, qualification for state math competition (not really an award, but it doesn’t fit anywhere else), Create Award at Vex Robotics World Championship, and a ton of other robotics awards.
Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Robotics club (leader, although we don’t have official titles), Environmental Club (board member), Varsity Tennis (captain), Latin club, Math Team, NHS
Job/Work Experience: I work for a non-profit organization, and I teach an SAT prep class
Volunteer/Community service: Ton of stuff… several hundred hours. I’m not gonna list everything, but the most significant community service activity I’ve done would be volunteering for a camp for kids with diabetes
Summer Activities: Summer tennis, a ton of volunteer work, employment
Essays: Wrote them all in one day, but I still think that they were pretty good.
Teacher Recommendation: I sent three. Two were extremely good, but I’m not sure about the third.
Counselor Rec: Probably average

Strengths: Extracurricular activities, test scores (although I know SHC doesn’t even look at these)
Weaknesses: Didn’t take enough AP courses, although in my defense, my school makes it exceedingly difficult to take many. Also, I sent in my application a few days after the priority deadline (oops).
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think I’m pretty well rounded.
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: So far just WPI and UMASS.
General Comments: I’m so happy that I got in. SHC is definitely near the top of my list, so I’m pumped that I no longer have to worry about whether or not I got into a great school. Congrats to everyone else who got accepted, and to everyone who didn’t, I’m sure you’re all amazing people, and you’re all gonna be at great colleges next year!</p>
