<p>Ok 16ers, what EC's are you doing next year?</p>
<p>I'm doing:
-MACC (if I get in)
-Interact Club
-Student Council
-NHS (If I get in)
-Possibly Tennis or Track (undecided)</p>
<p>and possible other things.</p>
<p>I just want to say I run distance in Track, specifically the mile, and it’s an awesome experience.</p>
<p>What I did this year:
Soccer (Fall)
Track (Winter/Spring)
Soccer (Spring League)
I didn’t join any ECs mainly because I’m transferring schools.</p>
<p>I’m looking into the same sports (Maybe Tennis in Spring).
EC’s I’m looking into:
- Student Newspaper
- Debate Club
- Environmental Club (definitely going to try this)
- Model UN or Harvard Model Congress
- Anime</p>
<p>Community service is required for my school. 25+ Hours A year.</p>
<p>Right now I’m in Student Council, Leo Club, and SADD, and next year I wanna join Newspaper, Snowball (sort of like a service club) and maybe Drama Club.</p>
<p>This year I was involved in theater, but this I think I’m going to pursue my other love, academic competitions. I’ll be doing:</p>
<p>High-Q team(basically a quiz bowl competition that is televised every Friday on the local network)
UIL Spelling & Vocabulary (basically a competition for public schoolers in Texas)
Academic Decathlon
National Honors Society
Debate Club</p>
<p>I might also do Japanese Club and Key Club, but it really depends on how much free time I have next year.</p>

<p>by the way, how are you guys able to get these research opportunities? Do you email professors expressing your interest in a certain topic or are you part of some research program for high school students?</p>
