Class of 2016!

My daughter received the letter from the President today and she is still waiting for her acceptance. I guess it went out to everyone that applied.

still waiting to here, after i applied in early october. should i be worried? not even my status has changed and they have all my information

My son and his girlfriend received their acceptance notification to UP in January…they both applied in September. My son attended the summer program and finally got into Smeal. He just graduated from PSU with his degree in marketing and his girlfriend graduated with her degree in accounting. My daughter applied to UP in October and she is still waiting to hear from PSU also SUNY Binghamton, AU, and SU…nothing yet.

okayy thank you so much! my mom went to Penn State and a lot of her friends kids have applied in previous years so they told me to make sure I sent my application as early as i could. I just can’t wait to find out. crossing my fingers

Waiting to see my admission decision… applied 11/13 and all scores/transcript sent by 11/17/11… i hope i’m not too late :(

Applied to UP for B.S. in Psychology

GPA: 3.86 w
SAT: 1820 single sitting (620 M 580 CR 620 W)
RANK: 17/283
Tons of EC’S and Honor Societies and Volunteering.
10 Honors classes and 5 ap’s (all taken senior year)

Wish me the best :)

Better to apply early to PSU as they have rolling admissions. The wait is difficult but they started accepting students in the beginning of November. My daughter went to UP this summer through a summer study peogram and liked UP and State College. Did you apply anywhere else?

i also applied to rutgers nb sas for psychology and to seton hall for a bs in psychology

You shouldn’t have any problem getting into your major at PSU. I know that it is more difficult to get into Smeal School of Business, especially Finance. Also the nursing program is difficult to get into and you need to maintain a 3.5 or higher. Good luck with your college choices…I hope you hear from PSU soon.

is communications one of the more difficult majors to be accepted to?

Just wondering if anyone knows of anyone hearing back from PSU who did not get into UP or who did get into summer session? Don’t know if PSU sent out non-admittance notifications yet.

I don’t think that communications is like Smeal and Engineering but not totally sure. I know at Syracuse-Newhouse it is very difficult to get into. Regarding admittance into PSU satellites…a friend of my daughters got accepted to Altoona 4 weeks after applying…she heard about 2 weeks ago. My daughter just received the PSU letter from the President of PSU but nothing about acceptance yet.

I got the coming days status few days ago. The poor lady who delivers my mail has to deal with me everyday cause of College mails ■■■■■. I think she hates me :O

Can you tell me my chances of getting into UP? My GPA weighted is a 5.17/7 and my unweighted GPA is 3.20/4. I’m from NJ, applied for summer session, got a 1640 on my SAT, great essay, and great extracurriculars. I’m thinking summer session. Any thoughts?

Thanks, PSUmom2011. And I know, Syracuse has one of the best communications - broadcast/journalism schools out there!

The hardest part about this process is the waiting. Sigh
