jwestbook12…My daughter applied the first week that the application was available in September. She has had the same status as you for months. At this point, we are assuming no news is good news. Still, waiting is difficult.

Undecided major, applied for summer

GPA 3.6
SAT: 1200
Public School in Pennsylvania

@kblitz I did.

Thanks bluehen, and yeah hopefully both her and I still have a fairly decent chance. What’s her major going to be if you don’t mind my asking?

@PatchRadio I would call and ask if there is anything you can do to get into summer session, including changing majors.

yeah that’s what I’m going to do once I find out my actual admissions decision in a day or two, thank you

Applied: 11/25
Accepted: Today 12/10
Smeal College of Business

GPA: 3.56/3.76

Pretty solid personal statement I’d say.
Good recommendations (I think…)

Best of luck everyone.

Applied: Can’t remember exact date, mid October
Accepted: Yesterday, 12/10
Eberly College of Science

GPA: 3.66 W
Test Scores: 1950 SAT (610R.680W.660M.) 29 ACT
Good personal statement, don’t think they even consider them.
Good recommendations.

I got my letter before the online notification, it was probably the best feeling I have ever felt. Good luck guys

I applied on November 29th, the status changed to “Your application and high school transcript have been received and are under review. Please continue to check your status.” on December 1st, and it’s been that ever since. any idea when I should hear back?

stats:
College of Communications
GPA: 3.94
SATs: 1240/1960 (one sitting)
Ton of EC’s, leadership positions, community service, good personal statement & recommendations.
Out of state

thank you!!

Hey Patch, I think I’m in the same boat as you (Correct me if I’m wrong). Applied for UP (Summer, as well) and Altoona, but only got into Altoona. Sent an e-mail to the admission’s office to ask if there is any way possible that I could still somehow start at UP for the summer. Will probably call the admissions’ office in the next few days too. Basically, I’m going to try every way possible to get into UP, even if I have to go during the summer.

@PennState1993 yes, same exact situation except I haven’t received my notification yet. I didn’t put down an optional satellite campus though because in all honesty, if I can’t stay at UP for all four years, to me it’s not the same experience. I should hear back tomorrow or tuesday but I’m definitely extremely nervous. Did your picture change to the lion?

Am i the only one who applied in oct (i think i got mines in on the 27th) but hasnt had the “coming days” status yet :(

If you have read the forums, you would see that plenty of people applied in SEPTEMBER and still have not received that status. It seems to be a trend of highest GPAs hear first, down to lower GPAs, but there is no real trend.

I dont think theres any real trend. I applied in sept, no coming days status and my gpa is 3.95

applied in early september and finally got accepted on december 5th!
GPA: 3.75

I applied on November 28th and got accepted on December 12th with a 3.39 gpa.

The pattern seems to generally follow very high gpas/test scores, then a bunch of rejections and/or branch campus accepts, then everybody else. BUT remember that it also follows a trend by College as well; communications is almost always the last school to tell everyone. We have a friend with a 3.8 who didn’t get accepted for Fall (last year) until January 20th! S1 was accepted to college of ed in late November. So don’t read anything into the wait – it might not mean anything at all about your chances.

Accepted this morning to UP!
PSU is my number one school, so I’m so pumped!

Does everyone receive the coming days status right before the decision is posted or is that only in some cases?

Pranksta I think everyone gets the coming days status right before their decision
