I applied the first week of November & I’m still waiting to hear back as a pre-pharm major. I’m still crossing my fingers!

Hi guys! Congrats to all of you, I got accepted for the Spring 2012 as a transfer. I wanted to ask a question about enrollment, so i send in my unofficial transcripts which are fairly okay. however, now that I’m admitted and I’m taking loads of classes, I’m not doing so great in them :frowning: and I think I might get 1 or 2 D’s (Which i never got before!) but I want to ask, since i’m already admitted and got my TU id and classes and everything set to go, can they still reject me? I really am trying to keep up but things are really stressing this semester and my class choices for taking all hard classes all at once was bad, which i’m obviously regretting now.

But now I’m really scared about my classes which i’m taking now and not doing well in, and if they can affect my temple admission?

GPA: 3.82/4.0
SAT: 1660

Math: 640

ACT:N/A
Rank: 36/275

I don’t believe I received any scholarship information with my packet in the mail. Compared to all of the other stats it seems that I should have received some sort of a scholarship. Is there any chance they send them out separately?

phillyphankev- The scholarship offer would be in the second paragraph of your acceptance letter. You could call and ask to be reconsidered, maybe? The website says that candidates with a combined SAT of 1150 and strong GPA are “considered.” At the admissions presentation, they said they average the CR and W scores and then add the M scores. Your CR/W averages to 510 and math 640 is exactly 1150 so it seems like you are right on the borderline. I don’t know if different schools in Temple have different criteria for scholarship-which school were you accepted for?

hope I can get some money

Why didnt any of you guys shoot for BU or pitt? I am curious…because scholarships? Why? Did you fall in love with temple at the visit…where? when is the accepted freshman day? I want to visit in spring before I decide where I want to go because I applied to TU, HUNTER CUNY, PITT, BU, GWU, NYU, NORTHEASTERN…anyone want to help me decide or give advice?

because temple is the closest school to my home.

Well I chose to appy to Temple over Pitt because Temple is a better fit for my major, which is communication studies. I never considered BU but I know my friend is in love with that school, but she may choose Temple over it because of the cost of tuition. I deffinetly believe that in order to make a decision for anywhere you have to visit. My visit to temple only confirmed how much I loved it, and a visit could tell you whether or not it’s right for you.

how long after getting email did your letter arrive?

I applied in early November and haven’t gotten any sort of response yet. What should I expect? My grades are above average for the school, I feel like I should have gotten something by now, it’s been about 6 weeks :(

you will get in, but i think they are just unorganized…I called in and the people didnt have my stuff until about 5 weeks, so hang in there… I applied to cuny hunter too…and hunter is so much cheaper. What makes temple and hunter different? I doubt I will get enoigh money to make me choose temple over hunter…any comments on this?
