My D got her acceptance notification on the website today! Congrats to all!
Stats: 3.9UW, 3 Honor Societies, many AP/IB classes, kick-butt essay, many other ECs. We're in NY. Applied in January.
GO DAWGS!

Myers is always our favorite! I’m interested in seeing how the new Rutherford hall will turn out. The pictures look great! Rutherford will be the new home for the Franklin Residential College

Accepted! Came home from work with a missed call from them congratulating me on acceptance which was surprising because I didn’t expect to hear until end of march early April! GPA 3.8 uw ACT 33 all IN classes top 7% lots of ECs! Yay Georgia!

Heading back from GA and all I can say is - GO DAWGS!!
My D applied to UGA at my urging, sight unseen, and it was low on her list, simply because there were others she had seen and liked, plus some schools in CA. She was pretty sure she would end up there when she was shocked by a wait list letter from Clemson last week (her favorite east coast school). Who knew that was the best thing that could have happened?!? I don’t think we would have made the trip otherwise.
We both had such strong reactions to UGA from the minute we arrived in Athens. It will be her new home in the fall. The campus, the people - I can’t even describe how much we loved it. We took a tour, we wandered around ourselves. By the end of the day my D couldn’t picture herself anywhere else!
Now I just have to sell a kidney to pay for it lol…
Myers and Rutherford are her 2nd and 3rd choices respectively. First is Creswell as she is really looking forward to being with 900 other freshman
Jennee98 try to check it out.

@Cawledgebound - I’m hoping there is some advantage to the early admission…like maybe a break in tuition for us OOS folks
On Friday, UGA released a statement saying that they had just offered admission to a small wave of freshman applicants. These RD applicants met the stringent academic criteria of the EA admissions. So…I would think that it’s definitely an advantage.

@MamaO33 - have you received the official acceptance letter yet? And if so, did your letter include any merit scholarship info? Just wondering because I got mine today and it didn’t have anything in there. I’m really worried - I was expecting to at least get a reduction in OOS tuition! Something! I’m Hoping that merit scholarships are sent out with the FA package, but when I got my acceptance letter from Ithaca, it had the merit stuff included. I would appreciate any insight that anyone can give.

Not yet. Did u apply before 12/15? They said late march for financial aid awards I believe. We’re in NY. Hope u get into ur dream school!
You may be able to call them and ask…?

Thanks Mama033. I did apply before December 15th and I also emailed my counselor with my concerns.
In case anyone else was also wondering about their scholarship notifications…they will continue reviewing admitted students who met the priority deadline for scholarship consideration through the month of April. Students who are awarded scholarships will receive notification by the May 1 commitment deadline.
She also stated that scholarship funds at UGA are very limited due to extreme competitiveness, and she suggested that I look for outside scholarships. If anyone is interested in the list she sent me, Let me know and I’ll be glad to post.

Jennee, I want to attend UGA really badly but as an out of state student, I might not be able to because of the cost. I don’t directly qualify for any of their scholarships but I was accepted this February. I would be greatly interested in seeing the list of outside scholarships.
