“I wish I could give her my insulting $10K Deans scholarship!”

Good. As an alum and donor to Boston University (to scholarship funds in particular) I am very glad you are choosing to go elsewhere. I wouldn’t want my donations to go to anyone who finds them insulting.

I’m really surprised I received the Dean’s Scholarship! This makes BU more affordable than Northeastern for me, although I still haven’t decided yet.

I’ve always wondered - where does the scholarship money go after a student has declined to go to a college? Does it go to the enrolling freshman students who still need more aid, or does it go back to the school?

Also, when did you guys receive financial aid information after acceptance? I’m still waiting for a response.

I don’t think they have all the money that they present out for scholarships because they know many people who received them will not end up going to the school. They have many years under their belt to calculate this. The financial aid information is on the portal where the decision of acceptance is, and it will also be in the mail with the decision if you qualify for the aid.
