[] Summer Activities: selective chamber music camp
[] Essays: I think they were pretty good! EC one was about music in general; CommonApp was about LOTR and my father
[] Teacher Recommendation: I didn’t read any of them, but I think they were quite good. My Latin and English teachers have both had me for three years.
[] Counselor Rec: Eh, who knows.
[] Additional Rec: From a theater faculty member at my school who’s worked with me a lot. Probably very good.
[] Interview: It was my first interview and it was in late August, so I don’t really remember…we talked social justice and anthropology and it was pretty fun!

[/ul]Other[ul]

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: SAT scores; theater experience; essays/recs; academic stuff was pretty good
[] Weaknesses: math grades; kind of excessively humanities-heavy
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think I’m a pretty good fit, and Wesleyan tends to take a lot of kids (especially theater kids) from my school!
[] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: accepted EA to UChicago w/merit aid; accepted to Oberlin w/merit aid; rejected from Swarthmore

[/ul]General Comments: I really love Wesleyan, but unless the aid package is miraculous, I think I’m going to have to go where I got merit aid…and UChicago was tied with Wesleyan for my first choice anyway, so I’m more than okay with that! I have a good friend going here, though, so I’ll be sure to visit.

[] Strengths: Demonstrated interest, scores weren’t bad
[] Weaknesses: GPA

[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): None
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: ACT, GPA, interview
[] Weaknesses: Essay, ECs
[] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: I really don’t know. I showed a lot of interest in the beginning. I was accepted into TAP and my interview went great. I was going to apply ED but switched to RD at the last minute after my overnight. Don’t know how that affected me.
[/ul]General Comments: I’m really happy! Although I don’t really understand why they wanted me. My ECs are nothing spectacular. I always get intimidated looking at other people’s ECs. General Comments:

Accepted!

Stats are very similar to the rest of accepted students, so why bother posting?

I just want to say that this is such a great way to end my college application process. The past few days were…well, they left me with a bruised ego. I was rejected from Dartmouth, Yale, Columbia, and Penn; and waitlisted at Williams, Amherst, Brown, and Harvard. So this was definitely a pick-me-up. Congrats to everyone else who was accepted! I love Wesleyan, and have since day one; but I don’t think I’ll be able to go due to the fact that Villanova offered me a full ride - I just can’t turn that down.
