Congrats Maximum hope you do well :D. I am still on wait-list lol

Do you know what your buzzport status said was when you got accepted through the waitlist?

I’m an international applicant and still on the waitlist.
Has anyone contacted GTech regarding the waitlists yet ?

I remember someone called UCLA on Friday and they told him that they’d be accepting no more international applicants, and surely enough I got rejected yesterday.
Maybe GTech could reveal such information too.

well I’m screwed for tmr’s ap economics test, but I’ve gotten an email from Gtech for an acceptance spot on the waitlist-- I guess I am lucky. Although I plan to call them in since I really wanted to take a gap year… sigh. Oh and yes, I’m international. I was pretty surprised when I got deferred and waitlisted, as were the counselors with my stats (although they’re not that amazing lol)

Here’s a bit of what I got in the email:
“Congratulations! We are happy to extend an offer to you from the wait list for the Fall of 2013 freshman class at the Georgia Institute of Technology! This year’s class will be extremely talented and diverse, and we are confident you will make a tremendous addition… If you choose to accept the offer…”

And yea, it’s pretty tight. They only gave me a couple of days to give an answer.

hey GTers. Just got into Lehigh, keep the faith

-e

YES.

I’ve accepted the offer. GO Jackets!!

In case anyone wanted my stats:
and as I mentioned in my previous post, I was a bit taken aback when I was deferred and then waitlisted-- our school’s previous acceptances had much lower SATs and GPA. But then again, I guess what way you go in doesnt matter.

GPA: weighted (+0.5 for AP, nothing for honors) 3.75/4.0 ( I guess I can’t say I have a good gpa now hmm… but my second semester junior and onwards were 4.0++

I’m international by nationality, but my school is on the American system.

SAT: 2210
SAT subjects: Math 2: 800, Bio M: 750, Chem: 740,
6 APs in total, three of them taken in senior year.
Excellent recs
Good extra-curricular stuff
Good-okayish essays

Lets here it for all the waitl list rejectees that were denied admission today! Don’t worry guys if you’re like me you are happy enough with your other options.

Son just got an email that they cannot offer admission this fall, but they offered him admission next year as a transfer student (provided he gets all the hours/credits needed as a freshman at another school)…Anyone else get this?? He planning to go to OSU in the fall.

^ Wow . That’s interesting. Did they tell him what classes he had to take and what his gpa needed to be?

In the email there are a couple of links to pages on the regular GT website. It shows a chart with the classes he would need take freshman year, and also how many credits. I believe he would have to have a 3.7 gpa. I thought it seemed unusual.

What @tedysmom is talking about is called Conditional Admission. It is offered to a few students off the waitlist and it is basically saying Tech would like you to apply as a transfer. Here is a link for more info:
