Hello,
I graduate in 2017 and am going into my junior year of high school. I will be taking the PSAT in October (will this be a new test?) Which SAT should I take? The pre-2016 one, the regular one, or both?
Thanks!

The psat will be the same as the past, but you may take two seperate SATs. If you are planning on taking the SAT this fall, or winter, you will be on the old SAT. I believe, once the March SAT rolls around, you will be on the new SAT. If I were you I would wait for the new SAT to roll around. You would be able to take it once in March, once in the summer, and then once early fall of your senior year. Only reason I say that, instead of taking the current and the new, is so you have to most practice. Believe it or not, the SAT is like a game. The more you practice, just taking the test, you will do better. Hope this helps.
^ No. The PSAT in October will be the new test. It will be matched with the NEW SAT in march for NMF.
OP- I would recommend taking the old test in October then again in either November/Dec or Jan. The scores for the new SAT in March will not come out until after the May test… My son will be a Junior and took the ACT and SAT in June. It’s better to go with a known test.
Now I’m confused
October 2015 PSAT = new
Oct 2015 through Jan 2016 SAT = old
March 2016 SAT and afterward = new
Think of it this way. You can always take the new SAT in March or later if you don’t get the score you want with the old one in Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan. Do you really want to have to study for the SAT in the fall of your Senior year?
Sorry… makes sense theyd use the new PSAT
