Class of 2017

Thank you!

Anyone know if they guarantee the same amount of need based assistance??

I’m not a class of 2017 student but I used to be a class of 2007 with an expected graduation in 2010 or 2011 but then things happened and so my degree is expected in 2015 I think? Oh hell lord please strike me down now. The amount of places I’d have to post is ridiculous so I’ll just post here.

Finally made up my mind. I will be attending Earlham.

Congratulations! My son is leaning that way also.

I will be attending as well.

Congratulations, tfwlql and thirrdplanet!

Congratulations on all the new Earlham decisions!

Son asked me to write the check last night, so that’s that! I think Earlham will be a great fit for him. He said there’s a facebook page for class of 2017 but parents can’t access it. That’s as it should be. :)

Awesome, Princeton72!

I’m very late to the game here, but want to add my congrats to the new Earlham students. D is finishing her second year and S to head there in August. Quick thought: August Wilderness could be one of the most difficult, and most amazing, things you’ve ever done. Consider it.

I’m doing august wilderness! I’m wondering when we find out the financial aid for that as well.

My kid did August Wilderness in 2011, and loved it.

The acceptance letter for the program came on 4/22/11, and the scholarship letter came on 5/25/11. It was a partial scholarship only, for $400. The letter noted that the financial aid resources for the August Wilderness program are limited.

Yes, there’s a FB page for the class of 2017 but there’s also a closed FB group just for parents of any Earlham students. PM me to get there.

My family’s EFC is quite low (under 6k). Do you think I will get 50% off?

Haven’t you already gotten your aid package?

thirrdplanet, when you ask about possibly getting 50% off, are you talking about the Wilderness Program? If so, I’m afraid I don’t know. Our efc was higher, and that may have something to do with our getting only a $400 scholarship. But I just don’t know whether a lower efc would mean you would get more in the way of a scholarship for the Wilderness Program.

I’m talking about for August Wilderness. It says they give up to 50% off.

Oh, okay. Maybe you will get that. That would be great – it is a wonderful program.

According to the web site, “Award announcements will be mailed out approximately 2 weeks after the deadline.” The deadline was May 1, so we should hear soon!

Forgot to mention that my son will be going to Mountain Wilderness in Utah. He’s really looking forward to it!
