With May 1st soon approaching, the Class of 2018 will be making their decisions on where to spend the next four years. For some, UD is their dream school and making the decision to attend is an easy one. For others, it's a tough choice between one or more other universities. And finally, there's a group of students that choose to decline the admission offer for any number of reasons.

So... why did you choose to accept or reject admission to UD? Is there anything that swayed your decision one way or the other? Something that UD should do better next year to make the decision easier?

For my daughter (Class of 2016), meeting with a professor from the BME Department during her Accepted Student visit gave her assurance that UD could provide her with everything she wanted during her undergrad years. Today, she couldn't think of being anyplace else.

Wow… I took a 2-week vacation and it looks like a lot has happened. Based on the OOS yield, the real question might be “Why did all of these students choose UD?”

My son is in the minority as he chose not to join his sister in Newark. No blame or issues with UD - he just decided that one of his other acceptances was the right place for him. While we weren’t big fans of how the new rolling admission policy was executed, UD did get him an answer in the same time frame as his other choices. Besides a nice merit scholarship, they also offered him a financial aid grant that brought the cost very close to an in-state option. It came down to picking between the schools ranked #2 (UD) and #3 (Pitt) nationwide for their Doctor of Physical Therapy programs.

Pitt awarded him guaranteed admission to their graduate program as long as he meets specific academic and GRE benchmarks. That was the deciding factor. The good news is that meeting those benchmarks would also make him an attractive candidate for UD’s grad program if he decided that it’s time for a new environment in 4 years.

Anyone else have a specific reason for accepting or rejecting their offer?
