Class of 2018 Carnegie Mellon RD Discussion

Just wondering if anyone got waitlisted.

Also, can anyone who got accepted/waitlisted and who applied for financial aid please PM me or reply back. Thanks!

USPS has this site that will show you how long your mail will take to reach you from whatever location using priority mail. <a href=“Priority Mail Delivery Map | USPS”>https://www.usps.com/priority-mail/map/</a> You just type in the zip code of wherever the mail is coming from. For CMU the zip code is 15213.
It basically show that for most people the mail will take 2 days - so arrive tomorrow. For a few people, who most likely live in rural areas, it may take 3 days (arrive Thursday). Only for people who live in Pittsburgh or in the close vicinity will it have arrived today.

@musicheartbreak4 i’m in pittsburgh but have so far received nothing

@NigerianPrince oooo what do they teach?? Imagine I took their classes

Oh man. I’m stressed about tomorrow.

@selena731 they teach grad students mainly. My mom teaches 18743 and 18760 and my dad 18667 and one other I’m forgetting now

@NigerianPrince, that must be awesome! Interesting how your dad teaches an embedded course
Are you guys Romanian btw?

@selena731 haha yeah he loves it. And yes indeed we are

Nothing even though the USPS link indicates it would come today. I don’t understand why I can’t just find out the decision in the Where Am I In the Process portal. This process seems unnecessarily cruel to people who don’t live in Eastern states. Other schools have managed to find a way to let all applicants know on the same day… why can’t CMU?

@mycathasfleas an admissions official from CMU said that they want to inform applicants of the decision the “old fashioned way”, and hence hope that most letters would be delivered before they post it online for those who don’t get the packet…

If nothing came today by Priority mail (in NJ) does that mean it will be a rejection?

Of course not. Depending on which part of NJ you are from mail could be delayed a day for weather.

@bonee26 - Thanks! I already have some acceptances, but this is my dream school! Good luck to all.

Good Luck buddy we are waiting in NY also.

@badgerfan10 what part of NJ do you live?

Good Luck to everyone! Just wanted to post that my son received his Fat Letter this morning. We are in Colorado. I don’t post this to stress anyone out, just to give people info. He was accepted into the School of Art but rejected from School of Computer Science, he wanted to do the BXA program, so it will be a hard decision for him.

My son received a FAT letter today in central PA. Accepted into SCS!

My son received a small white envelope - waitlisted. We are located in MD.

@ANNE1389 was that normal or priority waitlist?

priority
