Class of 2018 Decisions

My application was marked as "complete" today. How long on average does it take to hear a decision and has anyone heard for Tulane yet? Thanks

I am assuming you applied EA or SCEA. If so, then in the past, by having a complete application this early, you would generally hear in about 3 weeks if you are going to be accepted. It would be closer to Dec. 15 if they are more likely to move you to the RD round. It is fairly rare for Tulane to deny admission completely in the early round, unless you are just completely unqualified.

But admissions isn’t the same pattern every year. The landscape of college admissions is changing and one cannot assume that what Tulane has generally done for the last 5-10 years will be the same this year. But as of now, you can likely expect a pretty rapid reply.

Has anyone heard of their acceptance yet?

anyone hear?

It is too early for acceptances to have gone out, I think.

Perhaps some credentials are in order… if, like FC said, deferrals are sent out after EA acceptances (assuming, of course, you applied early action one way or another), it depends on how good your application is.

When will decisions come out? Within the next week?

Call admissions and ask.

Last year, the first acceptances (that we know about here on CC)went out during the last week of October. My son heard on Nov 1

Following with jozuko’s son’s timeline My daughter applied just after the online application became available and I believe her letter was dated November 14.
user2018 have you visited campus or been to a Tulane Comes To You reception? Good Luck to you and anyone else who truly wants to go to Tulane.

I have visited campus and it is my top so im anxiously awaiting

What time does the result get posted to Gibson??

There is no specific time, they seem to pop up at various times.

On weekends also? Sorry for my questions! I just really can’t wait to hear back!!!

Sometimes the results did get posted on the weekends last year. I remember being very surprised.

Anyone hear back yet?

And let me just add to the whole timeline of things, my D was an auto admit from LA and didn’t get her acceptance until Dec 15. In addition to that, she was awarded the Founder’s scholarship despite the fact that her stats were average for Tulane - she did have some other things going for her. So, don’t stress if you don’t get a yes right away, it doesn’t necessarily mean anything.

Good luck to y’all!

My son applied EA last fall. He applied in late October and was notified two weeks later. In short, Tulane is really fast with EA applicants!

Newtrierdad, my point was that they aren’t always so quick. My D was EA also, applied in Oct, and all they had to do was look at her stats to make a decision and she still didn’t hear back until Dec 15.

My D submitted her application (SCEA) on Oct 20. The app was marked ‘complete ’ in Gibson on Nov 8 and she was accepted on Nov 9. My husband and I just got back from Parent’s Weekend’ - she is very happy at Tulane.
