Class of 2018 Decisions

no problem. there’s a lot of confusion! we need to breath.

@sneaker congrats! when was it postmarked?

Still no Pomona envelope at our house.

Me neither

I believe they said that you could try calling on Wednesday to receive your decision if you hadn’t received your envelope by then.

Hi, does anybody know if rejection letters were sent priority mail?

nothing here in maryland either!

I wish they would let us know via email or portal!

People in India have also received their decisions (typically Fedex/UPS/similar, not post).

Rejected :frowning:

@TrinidadJames22: There are always other options, so don’t dwell on it! Are you international?

@avisera Yep, On the positive side it probably saves me from a decision. I have Pomona, Williams and Yale NUS just about equal, and I got into the latter two.

Good luck to those still waiting. My rejection came through regular air mail, so it may take a while in some further parts.

@TrinidadJames22 Congrats on those acceptances! I agree, sometimes with too many options it can just bewildering, but that could just be me trying to comfort myself.
All right, if I don’t receive my notification package by tomorrow it’ll be safe to assume that I’ve been rejected as well!

D got in with very high financial aide compared to other schools. Anyone experience this? Does anyone have experience with fin aid at Pomona as I want to make sure they don’t offer high in the first year and then reduce aid as a practice. thanks so much.

Pomona doesn’t reduce financial aid if your family situation remains the same. Actually, it might increase it to reflect the same net cost despite a rising cost.

@bigdaddyvee they offered me a lot of aid. Pomona can afford it tbh; their endowment per student is higher than most of the ivies. I think the only ivy that tops it is Princeton. As you can imagine, they are much more financially secure, which results into higher financial aid than other schools.

**Decision: ACCEPTED!!! **

I demonstrated a lot of interest for Pomona and made sure that they knew it was my top choice! For future applicants, if Pomona is your first choice or one of your top choices, consider spending a lot of time on your essays. Since they have a smaller applicant pool, they read the essays and other supporting materials to a greater extent. I still have 5 decisions coming, but even if I get accepted to all 5 (highly unlikely), I will still enroll in Pomona. Congratulations to all the admitted students and future Sagehens! **

Rejected. International. :’(
