The wait is over. S got rejected. There are better things in store for him wherever he goes. As much as it’s hard for him to accept, I can understand how it feels having to go through the process. On the other hand, he is quick to admit that he is not too attached to the result. I told him that entry into college is not a gateway to heaven, nor rejection means living in the nadir or despair.

This is such a great blessing and I’m greatly thankful for Pomona’s support and appreciation for how hard I’ve truly worked to obtain an opportunity like this, especially knowing that I can’t apply to most of the colleges in my state because of my undocumented situation. I am too excited, and I congratulate everyone else who got accepted too! **

Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted to Tulane, Fordham, Boston College and Brandeis. Waitlisted at Bowdoin. Rejected by Columbia.
General Comments: Congratulations to all those accepted!

S2 in Texas not admitted. However, in his case it is kind of a relief, since he was already admitted to Tulane in November, he’s in love with it, and he just received a pretty decent FA offer from them. If he got into Pomona, he would have received no loans though, and it would have been hard to justify taking out loans for Tulane. But now he’ll just keep working the scholarship apps to close the Tulane loan gap! Congrats to all that got in. And @Abigair, best of luck to you. You sound like an amazing young man, and it sounds like you are ready to seize the wonderful opportunity that just came your way.

Accepted!!! Having the large envelope experience was so great! I was so worried I wouldn’t get in here, and I really wanted to have a choice in California. At this point, I’m pretty sure it is a crapshoot: my brother got rejected here, but is a third-year at UChicago, I got deferred, then rejected by UChicago, I got into Davidson, and Amherst with an early write, but waitlisted at Bowdoin, Wash U, and CMC (and am still waiting for nine schools!).
