@natesw1 Can you log into the collegiate link?

@natesw1 Dude, could you do us a favour and put our theory to the test? :)

You could access that collegiate page even without logging it. I think it´s nothing! Although I still see no “Welcome…” page etc

No, I meant can you get log into collegiate page? Because I would think that if you’re not in, you wouldn’t be able to log in or have @pomona.edu email address

**Decision: Rejected **

[li] Gender: Female[/li][/ul]General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: A tad surprised, but I guess I should’ve seen it coming. Without a more polished Common App beside it, my Questbridge app wasn’t as strong. No hard feelings, though. Only applied because it’s a QB school (wanted to maximize my “meet 100% of need” options) + it’s in California (love my state). I guess Pomona spotted my lack of true interest. Already accepted at USC (Trustee Scholar :D), UC San Diego, & UC Santa Barbara. Rejected at UCLA. Waiting on Stanford/Berkeley/a few Ivies. Congrats to those accepted! :)

@Lilliana330 would you mind testing our hypothesis of being able to login to collegiate page?

@Pcollege12 Already did. It let me log in w/my applicant username & password. I almost thought I had been accepted lol

@Lilliana330 Okay. Guess I should not be so excited about that. haha:) Congrats on your acceptance to USC and scholarship! That’s awesome!

@Pcollege12 Lol thank you! :)

Hello all! I’m a current student (class of 2017). In regards to your questions about the portal (which is confusing enough even when you’re a student and have full access):

Collegiatelink (https://claremont.collegiatelink.net/) is not the official Pomona portal (it’s located at my.pomona.edu), but it can only be accessed by logging in through the portal. Therefore, your admissions IDs will allow you to log into Collegiatelink because they grant you temporary access to an “Admissions” portal on the my.pomona.edu page, which contains certain links for applicants only, but doesn’t allow you access to features such as the add/drop widget and updated course catalog, Kronos (the payroll system), the directory, etc. Collegiatelink is also confusing in that it will let you use any email you like when you sign up for it; I tried to do the same thing you’re all doing, but in late June (because I was too impatient for my login info, which didn’t come until July 12th, via our .edu emails). I entered my gmail address (no affiliation with Pomona) and it worked; I think I’m still signed up with that address, actually. Collegiatelink is also generally pretty useless, as far as Pomona websites go, and it seems to always be having technical difficulties. So I don’t think you should place much stock in being able to log in, sorry.

That being said, you won’t be able to access the Portal until at least May (can’t remember exactly, sorry), once all the RD confirmations have been sent in and the Admissions office has finalized numbers for (somewhat; there are always changes) the class of 2018. You’ll get either a letter or an email (again, can’t remember, but I think letter) with a checklist of things to do and important dates; setting up your email account and Portal ID is the very first one. Also, while I’m fairly positive firstnamelastname@pomona.edu does work as an address, it’s always safest to but a period or _ between the two (works 100% of the time). That’s also just one of the emails for convenience’s sake, because your actual email is firstinitialmiddleinitiallastinitial02014@mymail.pomona.edu, though the numbers following the initials sometimes varies.

Hope this somewhat rambling post makes sense/helps! Good luck to all who haven’t heard back yet! Let me know if I can answer any more questions for you guys.

Also, please feel free to join the official Class of 2018 Facebook page: <a href=“Pomona College Class of 2018 | Facebook”>https://www.facebook.com/groups/PomonaCollege2018/

The current composition is about 40% incoming freshmen and 60% current freshmen/sophomores/juniors, and we’d love to answer all of your questions/talk to you in general.

received my acceptance pack today from china

@sneaker: Where in China do you live, may I ask? I’m also an applicant residing in China.

@avisrea ningbo,zhejiang

If people in China getting their stuff, safe to assume I’m rejectd lol.

but they sent the rejections on the same day as the acceptances so i’m not sure that is true.

Rejections through Fedex? Or a a cheaper option.

Last year only acceptances were sent through Fedex. The rejections were in the generic “air mail” envelopes.

yet, many rejections were also received over the last few days (based on earlier postings). and i thought folks said the US acceptances were all USPS. maybe i misunderstood.

My comment was concerning international applicants… sorry for the confusion.!
