Does anyone know when financial aid info comes?

I got my acceptance yesterday. Among other things, the acceptance packet included a letter which said something like “p.s. we will be taking a look at your final grades so please keep those up.” Did anyone else have that letter included, or was it just me? My grades dropped some my first semester senior year, so I’m wondering if they’re specifically worried about that for me, or it’s just a general note.

I got something like “p.s. your acceptance is contingent upon successful completion of your senior year at a level similar to the rest of your high school record.” Along those lines anyhow. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

Did anyone get merit aide days after getting the acceptance letter?

I think this year they’re sending merit letters following initial acceptances. I received my acceptance and then merit the day after, though I’m guessing it could be two or three days after depending on weather and location.

Yeah, mine came the day after my admissions packet, but some people might have to wait two or three days just because of the mail system.

My daughter’s merit aid came the day after her admittance. We didn’t apply for regular FA so it came just by itself.

I got a letter from the President wishing me congratulations, but I still haven’t gotten any mention of financial aide. They still notify you regardless of whether they are giving you money or not, right?

If you applied for Financial Aid, you should get a letter with your financial aid decision regardless of whether or not you received anything, but don’t quote me on that. I know I got mine several days after getting the initial acceptance letter.

Does anyone know if Macalester sometimes offers travel assistance to visit the school? I’ve gotten a lot of offers from other schools so I was just wondering if I should be waiting for that or deciding whether or not to visit now.
