Accepted to Whitworth University in Spokane, WA with a half-tuition scholarship! So thankful for rolling admissions; I got the decision within 2 weeks of submitting my application.

I’m thrilled-- and a bit relieved too, even though my stats gave me a guaranteed merit scholarship. It’s safe to fall in love, now :)

My daughter was accepted EA to Clark University yesterday. She also received a terrific merit scholarship. She is waiting on one other EA and 2 RD schools. It has been essentially stress free as she has a terrific college counsellor at her school, because my daughter knows what she wants and because she is a really interesting girl and so there has been virtually no gamesmanship involved… happy for her.

D3 was accepted ED today at Cornell – we are so excited for her! She had been accepted to Tulane and Case Western, and would have been happy to attend either but Cornell was her 1st choice and has a course of study perfectly aligned with her interests. What a day!!

Collage1 - funny overlap with my son who was accepted at Tulane and deferred at Case. I think he’s leaning toward NOLA over Cleveland anyway so the deferral doesn’t hurt his feelings too much!

My D was accepted SCEA at Yale yesterday evening. Trust me, the waiting was torture and I am so glad it is over. Though I am a Yale alum myself ('82), the process now is gut wrenching especially at selective high schools where the majority of the kids feel they should be going to Ivies or top tier schools. I have already made my hotel reservation for Bulldog Days since the closest hotel sells out early during times when there is high traffic at Yale. So, her gift for Christmas is no more apps to write (and a boatload of Yale apparel)!!

So proud of D, who’s been accepted to 4 so far, and no rejections. This does great things for her self-esteem!! And 2 of those choices seem especially great for her. :)

Congrats to all!! I just found out that DD was accepted to University of Chicago. This was amazing news, especially after getting a deferral letter from Georgetown on Monday. The wait since Monday has been excruciating. What a roller-coaster ride of emotions this week.

TUgradDad, congrats on the Tulane acceptance–sounds like your S would prefer that to cold Cleveland anyways! Tulane’s a great place and my D would have been happy to go there. Best of luck to him with the rest of his process.

Unexpected side effect of the first two acceptances rolling in: my motivation to finish the three last applications has dropped to approximately zero. Nada. Nothing. I already got into college, do I have to do more work? :P

Of course, I love one of the yet-to-finish-applying colleges (St. Olaf), like the second all right (Denison) . . . and Princeton is Princeton. But I’m running on fumes here. Can’t wait for January 15th to be over and done.

S14 accepted to University of Pennsylvania ED and Univ of Michigan EA. I’m grateful he gets to relax and enjoy the last few months of high school and of being at home.

Congratulations to all =). I’ve mostly been lurking around for a few months; wish I’d found the site with S1. Anyway…S2 has been accepted to Appalachian State and their Honors College - which I can’t say enough awesome things about (it’s where S1 is currently). We are waiting (quite impatiently…lol) on EA from UNC-Chapel Hill, as well as Davidson, NYU, and Boston University. Applications to Duke and Emory will be submitted by the first of the year. I look forward to hearing more good news from each of you as those acceptances continue to roll in!

Congratulations to everyone on your acceptances! We had a deferred decision from Rose Hulman that quickly became an acceptance once the grades from first semester senior year were sent. Thanks to S1’s high school guidance counselor for her support! What a great help she was.
