D1 just received an invitation to apply to the UCSC First Years Honor Program, and was informed that she is being considered for the Regents Scholarship! A nice pick-me-up during the agonizing wait for acceptance letters.

It’s so nice to see all this good news!

PetraElise, my D2 got that email from UCSC too. D1 is a student there - not sure if having her older sister at a school is a draw or not…

So far she’s admitted to:

SDSU (honors invite)
U of San Francisco with a merit award
St. Marys of CA, also very nice (and flattering) merit aid

UCB
UCLA
Pomona
USC (which I think she’s decided against - just as well)

We learned a lot going through this with D1 2 years ago. Mainly about the importance of adding match/safety schools into the mix. Okay, I knew that all along, but watching D1 go through the process opened D2’s mind to the wisdom of such a plan!

Just added University of Puget Sound to the list of acceptances. Only have the UC’s to go. Should know the whole story by mid-March

I am just so jealous of everyone who is done! And everyone who doesn’t have to do it again next year with another child! (Visiting an open campus for an accepted senior on March 28, and an open campus for a junior who is looking on April 5. Feeling like we truly are eating, sleeping, and breathing college until June 2015! Did I mention that I also work at a college – where our open campus is March 15. Enough already!)

DS received acceptance letter from RIT yesterday. 5 for 5 and waiting to hear from one more. So nice to have choices!
