I did three dual enrollments: General Pyschology & Public Speaking at community college, and Rethinking Citizenship online with UF (best decision EVER! I highly recommend this class). I always chose honors over regular courses whenever it was possible. Regular has always been much too easy, honors is just right, and APs are hard but doable.

Comments:
One teacher said she was 100% sure that I’d get into UF, but 80% of me felt sure that I’d get rejected. I guess I was just so scared and insecure as I always am when it comes to big things like college acceptance. I’m really happy that I got in, and I can’t wait to be a Gator!
I have some advice. Listen more to your gut and your smartest teachers than to your less experienced friends. In my college essay and in my college resume blurb about “something I did that benefited myself and others,” I included information about my favorite medium of entertainment, anime. I also mixed in some information about my ethnicity and connected everything to UF and life in general. Note that I was not doing any rabid fangirling on my application. LoL. Still, one friend, who has family at UF and claimed to know all about UF and its application process, told me that I wrote too much about anime, and that for sure, my application would be looked down upon. Basically, fellow students said my passion for anime and the anime fandom was a bad choice. I let two smart teachers look over my essays, and both thought the parts about anime were okay, so I just submitted my application and crossed my fingers. Well, here I am several months later. I got accepted, and that “UF expert” friend was rejected. I feel bad that the person was rejected, but this goes to show that you shouldn’t always trust advice from people, even if they know a lot about a school. I’m glad I followed my instincts and left everything on my application as is. Every little part makes a difference. I believe that my candid expressions for my passions and my good academic profile created a nice mix that allowed me to get into UF.
Remember: Even if you got/get rejected, it’s not always because you submitted a bad application. Do well both in your academic, community, and social life. Just do your best, and UF will decided the rest.</p>

Now that you all have been in college for a year, would any of you be able to share if you got scholarships and what your base stats were? My interest is particularly in OOS students. Thanks!
