So noones heard back yet? So anxious!

Its soo nerve wrecking but we are almost there! & nope @ncgirl0813 We’re hearing back Friday evening.

Hey! I just found this thread and am fairly new to this site! I just wanted to add that, you probably all have had enough verification, but I did manage to talk to someone from UCLA over the phone in the financial planning office and he said that decisions should be expected to start coming out this Friday eeks!! Good luck to everyone! Does anyone know if east coast hears first?

@hannza102 Times are 5 pm/6 pm/7 pm (all Pacific Standard Time). Don’t know if East Coast applicants would be on the 5 pm batch, though. They’re probably random.

@Lilliana330 Thank you!! So it’s looking like anywhere from 8-10pm EST here… gonna be a long Friday!

@hannza102 Yes it will /:

I already got into University of Michigan last friday so if i get rejected it wont be the end of the world for me but it would still suck.

UCLA sent the alumni email to me and I applied, is it a good sign?

@stupidboy I’ve heard it only goes to certain applicants, even though it’s no guarantee of admission. So yes, it’s a good sign. I got it as well & applied.

I think it is a great mistake for me to apply UCLA’s computer science because I hear about it is the most competitive major in the COE( and COE is also more competive than other colleges). What’s worse, just few minutes ago I read Ms Sun’s blog and she writes UCLA “rarely consider alternative major in the application”. Does it true that in fact UCLA only consider the first major, and if I am not eligible for it, I will be rejected rather than be reconsidered the alternative major?

For UCLA, you can apply for your first choice and second choice.
My son applied for CS for his first choice ( he may not get that). But he has a decent chance of getting the second choice.

I doubt that they would ask for the second choice option if they plan not to consider it.

I thought the consensus was that UCLA rarely considers second choice major. Ms. Sun is pretty accurate on these things.

I really hope you’re right, @ljmom!

@SoCalDad2 Yeah, the website says that if you apply to any college other than L&S as your first choice, then your 2nd choice doesn’t count. However, it says “normally” instead of “always” sooo…
