You guys are scaring me!!

My scores are slightly lower than you guy’s!!
I’m applying for the priority deadline.

I actually have a question about the application!!

Please list any other special talents, honors, achievements, awards, or activities that don’t fit above. (Maximum 4,000 characters.)

Am I supposed to just list them like the previous section, or do I describe it in extent!? I’m getting confused and overwhelmed!

Update: Got notified through the application tracker on Dec. 13 that I got accepted into honors!

I applied to the Golden Gopher App(no fee, scholarship consideration) and I still haven’t gotten a decision… I submitted my application on Sep. 2. and because my school is weird, they didn’t send my transcripts until October 1st so on October 4th UMinn had all my stuff… I’m starting to get worried if the Golden Gopher App was real or just a scam… has anyone had this same issue?

moomookaur,

It’s not a scam! I applied with the Golden Gopher app, too. The decisions come out on a rolling basis, so I would be very patient. I’m sure you’ll get accepted!

I think the university is just having problems with the system, at least thats what a friend of mine that applied to UMN said because she’s having the same problem it could be an instate thing because she’s instate and im not, but I got my decision even though we applied around the same time

@TheTrumpeter but how do your stats compare with hers? If your friend is below average or or on the edge for admittance to the particular college she applied to, her decision will probably take longer. I’m sure they don’t want to reject/waitlist people from their top choice unless they have to. They probably wait until all of the priority applications are in (deadline December 16th) before comparing the people who haven’t received decisions yet to decide who gets a spot.

Accepted
GPA:4.0
ACT:31
School:CSE
Attending? : Most likely

PS:which housing is the best??

@hville7, I actually got accepted ED to another school and I have 2 full tuition offers, and my family’s college budget is about $5,000 a year, so UMN is a no go.

Accepted!
GPA: 3.65
ACT: 29
SAT: 1880
College of Liberal Arts
Attending? Absolutely! I’ve wanted to go to the U since I was little. I’m out of state (Arizona) and am very excited.

@hville I’ll have to check with her, my stats were in line with the majority of last years applicants

GPA: 3.2 UW
SAT: Didn’t take
ACT: 28
School: College of Science and Engineering
Attending? : Yes

Congrats to all the new acceptances! Reminder – if there is a tiny chance you will attend, please put your deposit down for housing! They assign housing based on when you pay the housing deposit (it was $25 last year but I don’t know if it has gone up this year).

For CSE students, I recommend the Engineering LLC at Frontier. DS is enjoying his time there!

GPA: 3.5 UW/ 3.7 W
ACT: 30
School: College of Liberal Arts
Attending: It is one of my tops. Assuming I don’t get into my reaches it will be between Wisconsin (where I am waiting to here from) and Missouri.

younglion4 and MaxBayer,

When did you apply? I applied August 18 and have yet to reach a decision. I have very similar stats to you both. Also, MaxBayer, are you out of state?

Folks,

I am worried as well. I applied Oct 27th and all my material was received. I have not heard anything yet. I just got an acceptance at another University, but wanted to see the UMinn option because of it’s urban setting.

Cardinalfan97,

Early September, before the 10th.
