I’m applying ED to Penn (Wharton) and EA to UChicago, Villanova, Fordham, and Chapman. Ughh so many apps to fill out…although I’m trying to finish all of my apps, both early and regular, ASAP.

@pmmywest what are you looking to major in at Wharton?

@Encord probably Finance as well. Do you know if this is something we note in our application, and if it plays a role in our acceptances?

@pmmywest I think you just note which of the four undergraduate schools you’re applying too. Then when you actually do get in, after a term or something like that, that’s when you choose your concentration

I think I’ll do EA to Santa Clara… No ED because I am super indecisive lol

@Encord oh yeah that’s makes sense

hello guys, please help me - could i apply to Cornell ED and Princeton SCEA at same time?

@SuperScientist01 You cannot apply to Cornell ED and Princeton SCEA at the same time. You need to pick one or the other. However, you can still apply to Princeton SCEA and public state schools EA.

i’m apply to Brown ED and Boston College, UMich and Tulane EA

I’m pretty much done with my common app essay; i might have a few more people look over it. I got everything done early because my course load is so intense next year and i need time to perfect my Brown supplemental essays. Good luck to everyone!

I have 3 rough drafts for the common app, all on different subjects and 3 rough drafts for supplements. Planing on EA to U of Miami, Santa Clara, Tulane, Boston College, and Georgetown.

@marilo12 just so you know Boston College has an early action policy that doesn’t allow you to apply ED also.

@Belizeme have you started the Georgetown application? I think they are so boring, especially the business specific one. What are your thoughts?

@Eniam666 that’s stupid? why don’t they call it ED? I just saw it on the website at second glance. thank you for telling me!

@Eniam666 I haven’t started the Georgetown application yet. Could you give me the gist of the questions? I won’t begin the application until after I visit, which will be next Tuesday!

@marilo12 they don’t call it ED because it isn’t legally binding, there’s a huge difference between the two. And Brown’s ED policy prevents you from applying ED to any other school.

Well, all ED policies prevent you from applying ED at another school.

@marlio12 BC’s early action allows you to apply to any other early action school, just not early decision.

@Belizeme There is a describe yourself essay, a short extracurricular activity essay, and a major-specific essay (the business one is what factors influenced your interest in choosing business?)

@430ktk @Eniam666

ED is when you apply and if admitted you have to go, which is why you don’t apply anywhere else ED
EA is when you apply early and if admitted you don’t have to go so if you’re not required to go to BC if admitted EA, then why can’t you apply to other schools ED? that makes no sense.

Boston College Early Action statement:
@marilo12

› A student applying Early Action to Boston College may apply to other Early Action programs.

› A student applying to a binding Early Decision II program may apply Early Action to Boston College.

› A student applying to a binding Early Decision program may not apply Early Action to Boston College.

Yes, I understand what the differences between ED and EA are. I think the reason why colleges are starting to use single choice early action is because they receive too many early admissions apps otherwise. For example, I’ve heard that pretty soon, Harvard is going to switch over to ED because they receive so many EA apps because lots of kids who want to go to an Ivy but don’t want to commit decide they’ll apply early to Harvard.
