U sure? How do you know
I’ve been talking to the admissions counselor
I got in!!! Wahooooooooooooo
Congrats @Zmanlane! I got rejected. I’m not surprised at all. I’m completely unhooked and my GPA was too low. I am extremely low income, took ten AP classes and I though my SAT being close to their 75% might have helped but oh well.
I got in!!!
Got my decision! Admitted!!!
Rejected Good luck everyone, and congratulations. Hope you’ll have a great time and be very successful.
@leo125 @stl63139 glad you guys got in!
@Jmbakh are you going to try for rd?
@Zmanlane it doesn’t work like that. I’m trying for RD at 15 other schools though so hopefully one will take me. Congrats to everyone who got in!
@Zmanlane Thank you! Glad you got in, too. See you at Grinnell this fall
Hey, I’m a current freshman at Grinnell College, and I just wanted to congratulate all of you for your accomplishments. I am sure you’ll all love Grinnell as much as I do. Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have with the school
Hey, I’m a second year and also adore Grinnell College. If you have any questions you can prod me as well. I Can’t wait to meet you all in the fall and good luck for everyone still waiting on decisions!
@earth22 @PaperSails I have a couple questions for ya. Do most student take their car/is it worth it to brig it up? And do either of you have the student insurance? If so is it worth it for the 1400?
Just telling us you got in or rejected doesn’t really help at all… can you guys post your stats as well? Cause that’s pretty much what the point of this thread is
@HopefulBadgerplz why don’t u make an official thread
I can give basic info. I had a 4.22 weighted GPA. I estimated my unweighted as 3.36. My class rank was 155/640 and my SAT 1450/1600 (what grinnell looks at). I’ve taken 10 AP classes and all others honors. My school is partly a magnet but my low GPA and class rank didn’t make the cut and I understand. My ECs and work experience weren’t special but I have been pretty active and enjoying best buddies and a few other clubs. Also I am extremely low income which isn’t a negative to a need blind school but I assumed it was considered as far as adversity.
Hey, I don’t have the student insurance so I’m not sure about that. From what I’ve heard it’s good and if you don’t already have insurance through your parents it is necessary. I’ve been on my own plan so I have nothing really to compare to–sorry about that.
With respect to bringing a car, it’s a luxury but it’s not a necessity. I didn’t have one my first year and it was okay, though you’re a bit more trapped on campus. Now I have one and it’s quite nice as I can just jump off campus whenever I want/need. For those without cars, there’s rides to Walmart every day and there are busses to different shopping areas of Iowa as students’ need. Also, those of us with cars are plentiful and pretty nice if I do say so myself.
@zmanlane Enough students have their car so you don’t have to bring it. If you live in the midwest within driving distance then I would suggest that you bring it. I have campus insurance. It’s convenient at least. Just compare it with how much other insurance would cost.
