I got mine on the 31st of January, Stern Primary CAS Secondary. ED2
any international applicant who applied to NYU SHANGHAI as his/her primary campus of interest and observe the change in FA.
Have any international applicants who did not apply for FA got the change yet? Do only people who apply for FA get the change?

@VandaAree I am a domestic applicant and didn’t apply for FA, but still sent in my FAFSA (NYU FA office told me to), but it hasn’t been processed… I got the FA change about two days ago.
@NYUtenniskid @bismarck1996 Thanks for replying, guys! I guess it doesn’t matter whether you applied for FA or not then. I’m an international student though, and the FA change seems to be more inconsistent for us.
Omg, I just checked my applicant portal, and I got the FA change today! I hope that means I’ve been accepted! 
Wait, it is supposed to be a tabulated form with the words “2016 / New York University / Award access not available,” right? According to the NYU Local blog, it’s supposed to say “no self-service access for aid this year,” but people in the first page of this thread got the same FA change as me. Is it different this year?
Yeah, that’s right.
How much validity do you all think the FA change really has for domestic applicants? I feel like I would be that one person who gets it and then is rejected.
@bismarck1996 Ahh, thanks! From what I’ve seen on here, all the domestic applicants who got the change were accepted.

@bismarck1996 Which Facebook group are you referring to, by the way? I know there are several for accepted students, but none for applicants, from what I’ve seen.

There are exceptions to the FA Change Theory though. If the FA Change Theory was true, the majority of people wouldn’t get it, but it seems on CC that the majority of people do get it. Also, every year, there are exceptions… What if those exceptions are underrepresented on CC? What if there are more exceptions not reported?
@bismarck1996 Thanks! And yeah, that’s what I am worried about- since we only really know about what happens to other CCers, the results are skewed. From what I’ve read on NYU Local, the College Admissions Officers move things around Albert quite often. So they may have given people the change without actually fully intending to admit them. We’re quite close to the notification date, so hopefully our changes just aren’t them moving things around, but perhaps that’s just me being hopeful, haha.
