Class of 2019 NMSF Qualifying Scores

I’m in the exact same situation @thebigchef . Texas at 221 is good news because TX has always been above or equal to New York.

Art hadn’t seen CT 222 noted. Maybe He needs different sources to confirm

Is anyone else suspect of the claim that PA has moved up to 221? This would be outside of Art’s range.

I’d like to be skeptical, but I’m not, because it’s just our luck - puts my son out of the running at 219. I think 219 was a low number for PA to begin with.

kimclan1 - I saw that comment on Art’s blog about PA going up to 221. Don’t know why anyone would lie about it, but I guess anything is possible. Also, it could be that the PA commenter got a 221 and was told by the GC that he/she made NMSF and mistakenly took that to mean that 221 was the cutoff when it’s really a <=221 situation in PA.

@kimclan1 - I guess the PA number is as valid as any other number getting reported, hopefully my D will get notified soon and I can confirm PA myself. In my mind, it’s not valid enough for met to tell my daughter that her 221 in PA qualified her. Too crushing if it is wrong.

Sounded like that 221 number came from a counselor, per the poster who was told he/she didn’t make it with a 219. Bummer. A couple of eastern states are jumping a bit this year.

It’s always possible that a number is bad and walked back. at least till more info. comes in. This one sounds pretty straightfoward but on occasions people post updates or corrections to what they heard earlier. For instance, the counselor could have assumed it’s 221 because everyone at the school is 221 or higher, but it’s really 220. What we can probably conclude unequivocally is that it’s higher than 219, since a poster stated they didn’t make it with that SI.

Actually, I went back and read the comment. Commenter was pretty definitive that 221 was the cutoff. Also, Art has put that number up on his blog. I think you are safe tpike12, congrats. So sorry for you and your son Trixy34. With PA and CT going up, I have a feeling us NY 221’s will be feeling your pain soon enough.

@TheBigChef I wouldn’t expect people to lie but maybe be confused about how the cutoffs work, like how @JBStillFlying described. If it is 221 then it’s bad news for NY because I would expect us to be higher than PA :-SS

Totally unconfirmed but poster in KS got news indicating 219 is good enough. I feel better about D’s 221. Not as good as I’ll feel when she has the letter.

WOAH … big news on Art’s blog that a 222 did not make it in CA. Waiting for more confirmation.

It bothers me that the reporter of that CA info posted under “Anonymous “. I guess we will see.

Am I the only wasting too much time constantly checking? Would love a CO homeschooler family to chime in soon…

I’m I the only class of 2020 mom stalking this thread to see what the cut off might be for next year??

On the CC site, someone said that 219 qualified for Kansas.

Living in IL, I’m certain our school district would have received the letter by now (as would all of the other IL districts), but since the letter says 'it’s not to be made public until Sept 12th, I’d not be surprised if they held onto it until then. Wish someone/anyone would post information about the IL cutoff. Daughter is sitting with 221, which is same as last year, and with several other states going up, I’m getting more nervous by the minute.

@3scoutsmom - nope because I also have an S20 so I am covering both angles!

AL <= 216
AR <= 214

CA > 222 & <= 224
CT = 222 +1 from last year
FL <= 220
KS <= 219
MS > 213
MN <= 223
OH <= 219
OK <= 215
PA = 221 + 2 from last year
TN = 219 + 1 from last year
TX <= 221
VA <= 223
Just updating what I’ve seen so far from here & Art’s blog. Also, still stalking the mailman here… I’m not getting much done with my constant checking here & the mailbox.
Editing to add Alabama & Mississippi - just reported in.

@3scoutsmom, you know I am stalking for D21.

@3scoutsmom also another junior parent (in California) thinking ahead.
