Class of 2019 RD Discussion Thread

I was waitlisted as well… very disappointed, but I know it was because of my 32 ACT… It really gets on my nerves, because I’m an international student and I even went to Vanderbilt for three weeks… oh well

Son is waitlisted

it seems like a lot of us here have gotten waitlisted!

Another Waitlist…

Accepted!! After hearing that 9.5% acceptance rate, I was really skeptical - can’t believe this is for real…

Accepted! Now onto the wait for the ivies and Stanford…

Waitlist here too, but congrats to those accepted! I’m already in to my #1 so I’m not super upset, but FWIW, a student from my school was accepted to Vanderbilt ED and was expelled for about 6 months his jr year so i honestly have no idea what they’re looking for!

Rejected…but expected. Looks like GT engineering for me!!

Denied.

Dear Vanderbilt,

I am extremely regretful that you guys won’t get to experience my presence on campus. Sux

Sincerely your rejected applicant

Waitlisted…not too upset about it though because I got into my #1(MIT), so I declined my spot. Good luck to everyone waitlisted!

Denied; 31 ACT, 3.9 UW, 4.2 W GPA. Kind of expected a waitlist but oh well!

Accepted.

Rejected. Oh well… YOUR LOSS Vanderbilt. Let’s see who regrets what when I win a Nobel Prize :sunglasses:

I was expecting it to be honest. Well, no harm in trying, is there?

Congrats to all who got in! And good luck to waitlisted

Accepted, very happy. To those waitlisted: I got waitlisted at UChicago and WUSTL, so don’t be down on yourself, the process is very random.

Rejected. Oh well, looks like I’m off to Cornell!

Accepted, but with no financial aid and my parents aren’t even that rich… sigh.

Just looked up some info on Vandy’s wait list and wanted to share it with you guys :stuck_out_tongue:

-They usually accept 8-10% of applicants that accept a place on the wait list
-The wait list is broken down so that each college has one of their own
-They say the wait list is unranked
-They do gauge interest when you’re wait listed and thus encourage you to answer their email updates that they send to waitlistees to show that you are still very interested in Vanderbilt
-Vanderbilt is need aware for the wait list, but if you are accepted off the wait list, Vandy still abides by its promise to meet 100% of demonstrated need
-They usually begin offering admission around May (Last year began on May 5th) and continue even until July (last year closed on July 16th)

Best of luck! And may the admissions hunger games begin!

Wait list here, too!

Vandy seems to love my school. Over 14 people(that I know of) were accepted RD(class size of around 150).
