Accepted to Emory and Cornell. Rejected at Vandy. Oh well, I guess I’m going to the Ivy League.
I was accepted at Vandy today. Accepted by Emory last week.
From last year’s common data set: Of 29,500 total applicants, 3,900 were accepted and 6,000 were waitlisted. 4,500 accepted the waitlist and of that 4,500, 210 applicants were accepted.
Waitlisted… sigh it’s my third one
Oh my! Why do you think they waitlist so many?!
I guess they’re competing with the toughest schools to persuade students to choose them. I dunno.
I’ll be the first one to admit that being a legacy and instate probably pushed me in. Though around 15 people in my school got accepted, and many had much worse stats than I did.
DS rejected. 34 act, top 10%, decent SAT(800 math). Crap shoot.
My 32 ACT killed me… but at least it killed me with a wait list
Accepted! 34 ACT, 4.4 GPA, top 10%. But honestly… I have no idea how. I didn’t send any other test scores in, didn’t interview, and felt as though my common app essay was weak. I have many more qualified friends waitlisted/denied. To all those who got waitlisted/denied - don’t take it to the heart - the randomness is real! But I am ever grateful
Did anyone ever answer that question of whether Vanderbilt subsidized trips to the University for those who couldn’t afford it otherwise?
Admitted! 35 ACT, 1/822 students. Will post my stats in the official thread this weekend/when I get a chance.
