Since I didn’t see any topic about this, I am creating one.
I received my e-mail on March 13 and got wait listed.
Does anyone know the % of people called from wait list? Is it too low? I am really nervous, SLC is my first choice.

I’m an international, and I got wait listed too…Don’t know when there will tell me the final decision. Don’t be so nervous. I guess you can send some writing pieces to back up your application.
I am international too, and I will send another writing paper to them. Hope we can get there!
I am an International student as well and have been waitlisted. My need for financial aid is huge and I doubt whether the college will even consider. Anybody who knows the number of applicants who are waitlisted and how much is the acceptance rate among those waitlisted?
I’m an international with huge financial need and got accepted. What were your stats guys?
I was on top 20% of my class, with strong recomendation letters and good essays. I didn’t send my SAT scores.
I think my analytical paper was the problem here because I focused on a Brazilian movie with more specific themes about Brazilian society. I could’ve chosen a better thing to write about. Plus, I wrote 10 pages (I didn’t know that they recommended 4~5),
What were your stats, render142?
Hi there. Found out yesterday that I have been wait listed to SLC. I am beyond surprised by this decision. I have been accepted to much more prestigious schools in terms of acceptance rates, but Sarah Lawrence was really toward the top of my dream list. I feel I would fit in really well there and bring a great deal to the campus environment. I don’t remember whether or not I submitted my SATs, but I have an excellent transcript filled with a very advanced math course load.
One thing I am curious about is whether or not Sarah Lawrence’s admissions process is need blind? My FAFSA came out with a very low EFC, perhaps they take these sorts of things into consideration now a days. Any thoughts on the numerous wait listed decisions? Have any stats been released on the number of students accepted?
Good luck to all.
@heydarling my stats are the following:
I got a 2090 in the SATs (670 CR 670 M 750 WR) and 720 LIT 670 FRENCH 800 SPANISH. I know they dont really pay attention to the SATs but I send them either way.
Ny reccs were pretty good and essays too. Great accomplishments in sports (tennis and soccee) and other stuff. But what I think made them accept me was the fact that I published 2 books (fantasy) 250 and 430 pages long) and just got a major book deal from the largest publishing group for spanish speaking people (PLANETA) (Im from argentina)
I got tons of need but the financial aid award they sent me was pretty good. I asked them to recalculate because of a couple mistakes in my files and im waiting.
Good luck to all those in the waitlist
Wow, great accomplishments!
Hope to see you there this year.
@heydarling Thanks! Im still waiting for 13 other colleges hahahah so far I got defered at Dartmouth and rejected at uchicago. The book deal with Planeta is new (it happened like 4 days ago) so Im hoping ill get a few other acceptances.im hoping it will make a difference in my application to big colleges (my sats and gpa arent very good) But im actually really excited about Sarah Lawrence!! I wasnt even expecting to receive the news yesterday! It will most certainly be one of my top choices no matter what. Again, good luck with the waitlist!
Got waitlisted too. Also an international seeking full aid. Honestly, I didn’t even expect them to consider my application since I sent it after the deadline without much hope.
This is the first college I’m hearing back from and it’s really nice not being rejected outright, even if the chance of getting off the wait list might be somewhere near 0.02%.
Funny thing, I overreacted too much for being on the wait list, I gasped way too loudly when I found out the news. When everyone around me seems to get acceptances to top colleges left and right I guess it’s reassuring to be waitlisted somewhere before the rest of the decisions flood in next week.
Anyway, good luck to everyone !
Got waitlisted too, and am an international needing full financial aid. SLC isn’t my first choice, but I thought it would be a reach for me. Is there anyone who is waitlisted and got other offers from more prestigious universities/college? Also, all the best to everyone!
@Mimime9 Congrats!! Where else did you get accepted to, if you don’t mind me asking.
Accepted!
international (China) not seeking aid but got 10K in international scholar scholarship.
2200 and a bunch of activities, good recs too.
good luck to everyone!!
Accepted!
3.69 Weighted GPA, Top 30%, Opted to not include SAT/ACT, Strong involvement in Theater, Very good Letter of Recs and worked a lot on my Essay. My stats aren’t super impressive, but nevertheless I got in to my dream school!
Oh yeah, from California too
Hey there.@doiwannaknow I’ve been accepted to Tulane (26%) and the University of Rochester (35%) so far. I have about a dozen left to hear back from though. Sarah Lawrence was the first non-acceptance.
Accepted! International student from Japan
Hey guys, what are you going to do if you’re on the wait list? Are you going to send a letter of continued interest (to what email address?? or do we mail it?) and new essays?
Waitlisted! International student from Nepal.
