The April 1st date is an has been on their website for regular decision. They’re not putting anything over on you, or being unprofessional. I understand the anxiousness, but that’s the date they gave and it’s not a change. Your patience is being tested because you don’t want to believe the written date. You should expect to be told on Wednesday or before as tough as it is to wait.
@lenmonster Sorry if I was being a bit aggressive. I was just a bit tensed. I really hope it comes out before or on April 1st. Thanks for your advice. I guess I can manage for 2 or 3 more days. But, I really hope it comes out soon.
It’s fine. I understand your anxiousness. My son was a transfer last year and they are told to expect decisions “beginning mid-April.” He got (and everyone else) got the decision on April 16th. My daughter (his twin sister) is transferring this year and we are anxiously waiting. Here’s a hint, because you’re so close to the deadline…Check your application portal. If you see a housing or dining contract link, it’s almost assured you got in and they post those through a glitch a few days before the decision appears. I’ve never heard of anyone who got that and was rejected.
@lenmonster Thank you very much. But, where do I check that? Only my application status is visible. It says application submitted and where do I check the other details? There isn’t anything specific in my dashboard.
This week is the first week of April, so there is still a chance we will hear by the deadline. Sorry to worry everyone, just thought it would ease some people who were waiting all last week thinking decisions would come out last Friday. Hopefully we hear in the next three days! Good luck everyone!
@Tohoforever When you log into the portal, under My Application(s) you’ll have several “Applications for…” @lenmonster says to look for “Housing and Dining Agreement.” For example, I applied for priority decision and the Housing and Dining Agreement is the fourth on the list for me.
@Kyloren I find many applications for… . But, should i click view application for Application for Freshman or Transfer Admission. I find 4 rows and I can’t find “housing and dining agreement” anywhere.
It may not have posted yet. It will appear only when they post them. Don’t worry if you don’t see it at this point. My daughter’s transfer admission doesn’t show it yet either (although we don’t expect that for two weeks).
@lenmonster Thank you very much.
If anyone gets that message for housing and dining can you guys post it here. I haven’t gotten it yet.
@moon1light9path7
There is a chace they might have fixed that glitch for this year, so we might still need to wait. But anyways, like you said, if anyone gets that please post it!
I’m not too sure that they fixed the glitch because UMD priority 2019 had the glitch too.
Re: applying after Nov 1: Same here. The ol’ “You don’t know what you don’t know.” I’ve stopped telling people because I don’t want to hear again, “OMG, you didn’t apply by Nov 1??”
I have it on good authority that spring admission is MUCH easier – because only Fall Student Stats go into Rankings.
Housing/dining hasn’t showed up on my portal either.
what are the chances they will announce today?
Tick tock, tick tock… post Regular Decision admissions already! nothing worse than waiting
i feel you! I’m so anxious!
Assuming the final April 1 notification date posted on their website is correct, there’s a 33.3% chance we hear today. Hopefully that goes up to 100%! Anyone know what time they released priority notifications? Was it 5pm?
We applied to UMD in Dec (along with several other schools) and the timing appeared fine as we were ahead of Jan 1 deadlines. We actually thought we were early b/c UMD deadline was Jan 20. I really wish we knew to apply by Nov 1. Sadly, this was not common knowledge. I suggest go forward that UMD post a prominent bullet somewhere on their admissions brochure. Or at least mention on campus tour.
