College is a big decision and a big investment not matter what school. Every family should make the choice that is right for them, and respect that others do as well.
Ithaca College MyIthaca account disabled. Another one bites the dust.
UGH! That was a bad day for The D because they hadn’t even held their last audition yet! Sorry.
MyIthaca account not disabled. So I hope that means S is still in the running.
And the good news keeps coming – Otterbein is a no. We expected that one. Six left my friends – please say some prayers.
Will definitely think a good thought and send up a prayer for your D @Divamamacita ! Hang in there! An offer to a great place for her WILL come!
Divamamacita, there is a reason that your D applied to so many schools. Re-directions happen to everyone. This is a tough process! Hang in there! Her YES is coming!
No from CCM and Ithaca
No for Otterbein for my D. Auditioned at Chicago Unifieds.
@Divamamacita Thinking of you and your D. I know she’ll get in exactly where she’s meant to go. You guys got this.
Got an “you’re still under consideration” email from Otterbein. Guess that’s a hold or a deferred decision. Auditioned at Chicago Unifieds.
Don’t worry @hopecladwell. It’s still early. Besides… we’re right here with ya… urine good company.
Lol.
This is her (our) first official no. Feels like a kick in the gut. I know it was a long shot. They take so few, and because of the weather on that Monday, only the dance adjudicator was there. Her audition was videotaped. My D is much more charming in person!
the video auditions are always tough… especially at the selective schools. There will be more redirects; hold strong & tell her to keep her head up.
hey MTDadandproud! wtf? no happy news here! This thread is for sulking, crying, eating bon-bons, and commiserating. (or in my case, drinking heavily). Go be happy on the other threads! (…jk and congrats btw)
@MTDadandProud - which day of chicago unifieds?
Sorry to hear about the rejections. It’s really hard. As a single mom of five, I’ve always made it clear to my kids that they have two hurdles to overcome: getting in and affording it. Two of my children could not go to what they thought were their dream schools at the time, even though they were accepted, because we couldn’t afford the schools (they offered no financial aid). In both cases, it turned out fine. One ended up going to a prestigious college with full tuition-ride plus some room/board, and she graduated college with minimal debt. Not too shabby.
College is very expensive, and sometimes we can’t afford a particular one. It’s how life is, after all. No sense worrying about the cards we’re dealt. It’s how we deal with the cards we have that truly makes us who we are. Wherever our kids go, they will have many opportunities, and can forge their own too.
@Jewel15 S auditioned for Otterbein on Tuesday, Feb. 3.
@pghmusician Sorry! I thought deferrals and holds were included on this. I certainly don’t want to make anyone feel bad.
No from penn state!
I was under the impression that Otterbein just made a final cut list (“still under consideration”) and will make final decisions from that group on March 1st.
that’s correct. some got released, some getting held to NLT March 1st.
