***Class of 2019 Results and Discussion Thread

I know the first decision doesn't come out for 2 months, but I wanted to create this thread for the prospective class of 2019 for discussion, and eventually admissions results!

If you want to say anything, post away!

I applied, and I just hope my stats are good enough…

@wchristen89‌ Same here… My GPA is my only weak spot with a 28 on the ACT

See I have an 1810 3 part SAT, but only an 1190 2 part. My GPA and class rank is great. I’m retaking the SAT in November though… I’m crossing my fingers…

@rampagewrestlr‌

I applied with a 4.04 weighted GPA so Im pretty nervous about that. Class rigor is strong but I just dont know. Really nervous!!

I’m OOS so somebody from NC please help me understand why the average GPA seems so high?! This lists it as a 4.41 for last year. http://admissions.ncsu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/first_year_facts_2014.pdf</a>
That’s a high GPA for any school, but it seems really high in comparison to the average SAT and ACT scores. The average unweighted in 3.66, so does the high weighted mean NCSU likes lots of AP/honors classes??? My GPA is a little lower but still in the range, test scores higher.

@z0e101‌ I’m from North Carolina, and I think the weighted GPA is so high because of the way most North Carolina schools weigh GPA. An honors class is worth 5 points, but an AP is worth 6 where I go to school. So I know part of the reason is the scaling system, but they still do like a challenging course rigor.

How can I check to see if they recieved my test scores? I sent them about a week before the Oct. 15 deadline, but I still don’t see it anywhere on my WolfPaw.

I sent in my application on the October 15th EA deadline and my application status is still “submitted” and that’s really stressing me out. I have a 33 on the ACT and a weighted 4.35 GPA but I’m still nervous because my personal statement wasn’t great.

I’m worried because I actually forgot to send in my personal statement, so I contacted them, and they told me to email it with my full name and they would attach it for me. I looked at my application and it still says that my statement is “not uploaded” and it’s November 1st… where could it be? I hope I’m not overreacting…

and @emlee23‌ I doubt they will deny you with those stats. You should have nothing to worry about…

Never mind, I figured it out… my stats are okay. 4.625 W 3.8 UW GPA, 8/232 class rank, 1810 SAT (670, M 520, CR 620 W) Although I am retaking it this Saturday, and am fairly positive I can break 700 in math and can raise my CR (I actually scored 600 on a practice test a few days ago, but think I will actually get 550-560).
My personal statement is EXTREMELY personal. I’ll just let you know I did not have the most stable upbringing. I really hope the admissions doesn’t think I’m pulling the sympathy card.
I am not, however, applying for engineering. I really hope I get in with the rest of you! But of course, everyone has doubts. Good luck!

I submitted my application in early October before the 10/15 deadline and I had entered my coursework before doing so (it said coursework complete on the page). But this morning, they emailed me and told me that my coursework was missing from my application, so I logged on and sure enough, it said not complete. All of my coursework was there, but it wasn’t uploaded as it had previously stated it was. I reuploaded it and now my application is complete, but will I still get a 12/15 decision?

@Elizabeth1315‌ I think you’ll get a decision on time.

And do you think my chances will be ruined if I have a low reading SAT score? My math is near-800 (Could actually be an 800 from the November SAT), but my reading is only 520 :’( . I find this to be the only weakness in my application (top 3% of class, good ECs, very personal personal statement, well above average GPA, etc), but this worries me.

The major I applied to is applied mathematics, and I think I’ve displayed proficiency in math, but I feel like I won’t get accepted because of my reading score…

Good luck to everyone who applied!

@ncstatefan97 Well I’ll gladly trade you my 750 for a math score like that! Considering I want to major in environmental engineering, I don’t think anyone will even care about my CR lol.

I’m really scared I won’t get in…

I applied for engineering, and although I have good scores and a good class rank (800 M, 630 V SATs, top 3% of class), I have made a few B’s in my math and physics classes (not all of them, but a few)… Even though I did good on the SAT math and demonstrated skill in this area, I think that will be the death of me…
Good luck to everyone else.

Does anyone else’s application say "scheduled for decision”? I assume it means they have a date when it will be reviewed or they’ve already made their decision but “scheduled for decision” isn’t listed as an option here: <a href=“Students of State - Application Status Breakdown”>http://ncstateadmissions.■■■■■■■■■■/post/102364007524/application-status-breakdown</a>
It’s been like that since late October/ early november. Any ideas?

@PundergradA19‌ I submitted my application in October but my application status just changed to “scheduled for decision” within the last week or two. I was wondering about it, but I’m guessing that they’ve made a decision and are just waiting until December 15th to release them.

@emlee23 Yeah I think thats what it must be. It sucks they don’t release them as soon as they decide, the anticipation is so stressful! :frowning: I guess we’ll see in 9 days though… best of luck to you!

Kristen, you are in… If you dont get in with that math score then many others are in real trouble.
