Accepted into College of Enginering - Undeclared Intent (Instate)

Weighted GPA: 4:47
Unweighted GPA: 3.85
ACT: 34 single sitting (32E 34M 35R 34S 9 essay)
SAT: 2150 (750M 700CR 700W)
SAT Subject Tests: Math II - 780; US History - 690
AP’s: BC Calc (3), US Gov (5), Physics 1 (-), Physics 2 (-), Stat (-)

EC’s: A long list of wrestling accolades (all-conference, all-region, team captain, scholar athlete), but other than that, pretty weak.

Personal Statement: Pretty good. I talked about my transformation from an unmotivated freshman to a hard-working senior. 7/10

Application questions: Good. 8/10

Other: White male, NC resident, $67k income

Strengths: SAT, ACT, and SAT Math II scores, good upward trend in GPA.
Weaknesses: EC’s, other than wrestling

Why I got in: I think my SAT, ACT, and SAT Math II scores were too good to resist, especially the math and science subsections. They were far above NCSU standards, even for Engineering.

Congrats to everyone who was accepted. Go Pack!

To all my homies that applied by the Nov. 1st deadline,

My status changed today to:
“Application Status: Scheduled for Decision
Your application is scheduled for an admission decision. The decision will be sent to you by mail and updated here on your WolfPAW account at 7:00 pm ET on 1/30/2015. The decision may be to Admit, Deny, or Defer for Final Review.”

So does this mean the earliest I will hear is January 30th? Like will I get something in the mail before it’s posted on WolfPAW? I’m guessing not. If only I turned in my app 2 weeks earlier.

Sorry to say it does not come up any faster.

That blows. I applied to Penn State over a month after when I did for NC State and I’m about to hear from them in the coming days (took them a little over 2 weeks). With NC State, it takes them 3 months.

Anybody else that applied by the Nov 1st deadline still having their application say “Submitted”? Mine still hasn’t changed to scheduled for decision and I submitted in Oct 31st.

As decision are approaching, I must say that I am SOOO scared :frowning: I feel like my stats are good enough for acceptance into the engineering college, but my gut is telling me “deferred”…
