I applied ED1 to Swarthmore and was deferred to regular pool. Now, with two Nepali students accepted, I think my chance of getting in is almost zero. Anyways, congratulations to the students who got in.
Yeah your chance surely has gone down @vahbmaslerahkop !! any one applied to F&M >?
I got deferred there!
@itsmeeee I did.
@shialabeouf did you apply RD?
@itsmeeee Yes.
Not to worry, @vahbmaslerahkop I don’t even believe the ED II results of Swarthmore and NYUAD came any time before “12th Feb at 12:33 PM”, the time some shameless guy posted the acceptance result of “SXC”, because the colleges make available all decisions at the same time. I myself have applied ED II to NYUAD and no, the results had not arrived then. Even if Swarthmore has already accepted two, there is no such rule that says the deferred candidates now have less chance of getting in. If the college thinks you’re a fit despite them wanting to diversify their incoming batch, your application will be a hit. ED acceptances are usually of atheletes, legacy students, UWC quotas, and rarely any strong applicant. These selective colleges defer more than they accept and reject, so I’d say you have reason to be hopeful at least.

@shialabeouf Why would anyone convert their A-level grades to GPA when private colleges are clear they don’t need it to be converted?
@Ayahuasca7 Even though ED acceptances do contain legacies and athletes, it’s also a well known fact that the ED applicant pool in general is more qualified on average than the RD applicant pool.

Anybody applied for Vanderbilt University??? It provides very good financial aid. But it is very selective with 11.7% admission rate last year 2015.
