I’ve been told that Pomona will release before 3/25, but I have not seen any official confirmation of an exact date. In year’s past, it looks like Pomona will add an update to the admissions section of the website with the date (and perhaps PomonaJoel will tweet something like “Beyonce is counting down”). Last year, I think RD applicants found out about the decisions date 2-3 days before. However, ED applicants this year––for what it’s worth––did not receive any notification except the day of.
I have a strong feeling that decisions will be released on March 22nd at 5pm PST. Both Pitzer College and Claremont McKenna College are releasing decisions at that time, and it seems that the 5Cs tend to release all decisions at once, much like the Ivies.
Untrue^ Pomona has a history of releasing on Fridays, and I’m unaware of any correlation between Pomona’s decision date and that of the other Claremont schools. Plus, @nostalgicwisdom said that Pomona is done with Committee.
Hopefully they tell us the date soon.
You’re right @golfcashoahu! Sorry for the confusion. For some reason I thought the Claremonts released their decisions all at once… But they apparently don’t. I have to fact check more I suppose.
I really hope they release this Friday!
How do we know @nostalgicwisdom is correct? Where did he/she get this info from?
It’s likely to be Friday, guys Check the Pomona College Instagram!
Oh my gosh guys. I’m beyond nervous. Good luck to everybody!
March 18, 5PM Pacific. Nearly confirmed.
@golfcashoahu What do you mean “nearly confirmed”?
While we start counting down to decisions day, I was just wondering what you guys wrote in your supplements! Pomona’s supplement was one of the most interesting, in my opinion.
Yep it’s this Friday at 5 PM. Says so on the admissions website.
@rosycheeks22 do you know if that is Pacific time ? Or is that 5 EST?
got to be PST. a ca college would not care to have their clocks synced to EST or CST
@vellichor I think it’s PST since Pomona is in California
Yes California time. From the announcement on the website:
“Regular Decisions admissions decisions will be released Friday, March 18, 2016 after 5 p.m. PDT. Please check your applicant status page.”
There is a reason why Pomona is in the same class as other schools such as the ivy’s, MIT, etc. They know people are stressing out and are anxiously waiting. It helps to have a definite time when decisions are communicated, so that expectations can be set and stress managed. They did a good job communicating the message - well done Pomona.
P.S. you should see the posts on the Northwestern cc page today. You will understand what I mean.
“The Admissions Committee wishes to thank all of the creative, thoughtful and wickedly smart students who applied for admission to Pomona this year. We were honored to read about your dreams and ambitions and hope (and fully expect) you will realize them all. Regular Decisions admissions decisions will be released Friday, March 18, 2016 after 5 p.m. PDT. Please check your applicant status page.”

Pomona’s Critical Inquiry course is required of all first-year students, and is designed to be highly interdisciplinary and engaging. Recent class titles include: ‘The Politics of Classical Art,’ ‘Seeing Science,’ and ‘The Theatre and Environmental Activism.’ Imagine you were hired to design and teach a Critical Inquiry course. Describe the title of the class, its contents, and why you chose it.

Through the Summer Undergraduate Research Program, Pomona provides students up to $4,000 to conduct research with a Pomona professor on any topic in the arts and humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences. Imagine you received one of these grants. What would you research and why is this topic important to you? How would you know if you had been successful in your research?
Pomona is so hard to get into, I wouldn’t be surprised if I got rejected
@greendu Agreed, but it’s worth pointing out that for EDI and EDII, applicants did not learn when decisions were being released until the day of (via Twitter).
