.
They just posted D’s FA & she can attend! They offered her the Leadership Award & a large Grant. Phew!
That’s great, @Kat2013 ! What is her intended major?
@AnxietyAttack77 – thank you! I honestly don’t remember it could be environmental science, environment engineering, or geoscience. That’s one of those things we need to learn at excepted students day because I think she was originally leaning towards environmental/geoscience but now is leaning more towards engineering.
@Kat2013 Can’t go wrong with any of that. Unfortunately my DD has major obligations on accepted students day ad the substitute. But we spent a full day there in September and she got to do everything but attend a class. I think she has an excellent feel for the place and a very favorable impression, as do I.
@AnxietyAttack77 - just sent you a PM
accepted
SAT 1900 (560 CR, 770M, 570W)
Math 2 700, Math1 710, Spanish 800
I applied as CE. If I get accepted. Am I accepted to CE as well? Because it doesn’t say if I got in my major. Got 28k leadership award and more aid, is affordable for my family.
Received financial aid package. Doesn’t even come close to getting to our estimated family contribution (EFC). Am considering appealing, but they are so far off that I don’t even think it would be worth it.
@luckybaer Same here. Nowhere near the EFC. So disappointing because this was a first choice school.
Did you receive the financial aid notice in the US Mail, or on the admissions website. My son’s page only has a link to his acceptance letter. If you had a link to the FA determination, did it just “suddenly appear” on that page? Thanks!
It just “suddenly appeared”. One day it wasn’t there & then the next time I logged into the portal it said: An update to your application was last posted March 17, 2016. So I clicked “View Update” & it took me right to the letter from the Office of Financial Aid.
I was accepted! I got a 27500 scholarship. Haven’t applied to financial aid. I had crap ACT scores of 25. I did dual enrollment and awesome recommendations from PhDs so that definitely helped! I like the school but I am not going to confirm enrollment! Good luck to all! Btw, I also got into CWRU, UMN, UW-Seattle, UST (St Paul MN) and SCSU (St Cloud MN). I am going to SCSU, a small state school in MN.
I still haven’t received my financial aid info. I called twice and they said" any day now" its been a week… Just want to be able to afford it!
Nothing on Long Island yet either! Hopefully Monday!
Does anyone know if there is a GroupMe or Facebook Page for Class of 2020?
If anyone is still awaiting their possible merit award, my S just received his, via email, today. He plans to study chemistry–perhaps the science-student awards come later?
@Exmark I’m still waiting for mine. I called and they said I’d get it tomorrow. Can I ask did you get a good package? I was hoping those of us who had to wait maybe were getting more need than others in addition to the Merit?
@Dennymac did you ever receive yours?
@motortrend It was in the upper teens. Actually, for all the well regarded schools he was accepted, which give merit awards, he received very similar awards. Either the colleges use the same “formula,” or they talk. Then again, for the colleges which were his “safety schools” he received larger offers, probably as incentives, and for his “reach” schools, there will be no awards–full sticker price. Guess that all makes sense.
You guys I can’t decide if I should go here or not someone help
