I’m from Maryland and I didn’t know what DMV meant either (also thought Dept of Motor Vehicles when I first read it). lol! Anyway, congrats to @eric2020! I would be interested in knowing stats and majors if applicable…just to distract me from the waiting!
waitlisted from Villanova, hope to get good news soon from American
@Lana22 same!
I live in California and have not received anything yet but i’m getting worried with the 25% acceptance rate. is there any chance you can post the link? Also, i applied without sending my test scores and i wonder if that will affect my admissions decision.
@perksofbeingdani unfortunately it’s on AU Tumblr which is probably considered a blog. Posting a link is thus against CC rules.
We Californians should hear back by next week for sure. Hoping for Friday for us- but it could be as late as next week
Anyone else just like freaking out b/c the decisions are in the mail and waiting is so hard? Honestly, I can deal with whatever decision and I can deal with waiting if I know the date, but this latter can show up at any time…
@Wassman98 that is me. My stress levels are at an all time high right now. I just need this waiting game to be over. I can accept what decisions have been made but I just want to know
Nothing in the mail in New York today
Son received acceptance package in the mail today. PA, outside Philly.
Congratulations!!! @dgdupont nothing in WA so far…
.
D received the “Welcome to American” packet in the mail today. Maryland (the “M” in “DMV”) - about an hour from the campus. She’s not home so I’ll wait for her to open it. I was able to create the portal before it was shut down, but I still can’t access it. That’s what I get for meddling where I don’t belong…
Nothing for Rochester-area NY today! But if DMV are getting stuff today, I suppose NY has a good chance for tomorrow!
nothing in the mail in nc :-S maybe tomorrow
OK, we opened it. What I love about AU’s letter is that they reference your essay (only one other school of 10 my D applied to did that - and it was her super safety.) I won’t belabor with details, but AU said “your essay is very moving” and went on to explain how they know this experience has shaped her as a person. However, she was offered a VERY substantial grant, but no merit aid. While we have another child in college right now (a junior), our income is still pretty significant, so we can’t help but worry that next year the grant will disappear and we’ll be staring down a $61K tuition bill. I think we’re reading the writing on the wall here. We received little or no need-based aid from any other school (which did not surprise us - we simply do not qualify.) Anyway, still nice to be accepted. AU said they received 19,000 applications for 1,700 spots in the Freshman class. D was offered a space in the “University College” program, which they say is their oldest and largest living learning community. I have no knowledge of what this even is, but time to look it up. I highly doubt we can commit to AU, since it’s too risky financially, but we’ll see.
No letter today from California! Hopefully by Friday?
Received my acceptance letter in NJ today as did friends in the same school district!
I haven’t gotten anything yet and I live in Maryland
15 minutes away from the school and acceptance came today. No money at all.
I asked this earlier, but didn’t get a response: If i can log into the portal and see my financial aid award, have I been accepted?
