Finally figured out how to log into the portal (if you guys are trying the Prospective Students Portal [which I did a milion times], THATS THE WRONG ONE! You need to try to log into/ make an account for the actual students page)!
Anyway, I found a page which congratulated me on my acceptance, and I a little over $50K in aid, $40K of it in a grant, the other parts in loans, so I’m pretty excited! I won’t really believe it until I actually receive the package in the mail, though.
I tried making an account and it says

I got in!! This morning I was able to create an AU account and look at my financial aid, so I was pretty sure I’d gotten in. When I got home today, sure enough, there was a huge AU envelope in the mail I’m from the San Francisco area. They offered me around $15k in aid, which really doesn’t cover much by AU standards lol. But hopefully I can be an eagle next year!!
As for stats LOL I’m actually shocked I was accepted. My GPA was a 3.5 W (terrible downward trend lmao with a small trend upwards) and my SAT was 2240. I didn’t have too many ECs, so I think it was my SAT + the passion demonstrated in my essays/recs that saved me.
I’m in Indiana- no letter yesterday so hopefully today. I don’t understand how all of you are making portal accounts because don’t you have to wait until after you’re accepted to get an AU ID? Anyway, good luck everyone.
My D got into Spring 2017, and into the mentoring program for this fall. Haven’t gotten into the portal to see what kind of $$ they’re offering. Still mulling over all options. Not sure if the mentoring program is an honor or not. Confusing!
I called American Help Desk since I couldn’t create an account. He says my acceptance didnt go through’ basically, because my AU ID Number was not working. Oh well, almost certain that means denial
I think the mentoring program does not give you any aid or scholarships. You should check it out on the au website. I believe the cost is close to 30,000.
Son got into the Mentorship program…disappointed. Should we be? No aid and a $30K roll of the dice on whether he will continue into the spring semester? Are students re-evaluated at that time for grants/scholarships?
On first glance, this looks like a conditional acceptance program? Anyone have experience with it?
