Class of 2020 RD

lol i’m an idiot. I thought the username was the email address. I can now long on

@KrinkleKat I’ve looked over every email I’ve received from an American university email address, but I can’t find a signature from that person youve mentioned. Help me out?

I was able to make an account and access the portal! Hopefully this means I got accepted.

@HalfAButtonPress Look at the bottom of the contents of any email from American. Don’t look at the bottom of the actual email, just the very end of the text. It should say AU ID XXXXXX in italics. If you still want find your AU ID type “AU ID” into your search category in your emails. It SHOULD then show you where to go.

Has anyone not been able to make a portal. The sheer percentage of people saying they were able to make a portal worries me.

@Apples1789302 I was unable to make a portal

Was anyone able to log into the gmail account?

@HalfAButtonPress , hmmm, not sure. My D applied on 10/31 and on 11/6 we received an email acknowledging the receipt of her app, reminding her that she could switch to ED from RD (she opted to stick with RD.) The e-mail was from Greg Grauman and under his signature, in italics, it said “your AU ID is xxxxxxx”. Then, we signed up for Preview Day on 2/15 (it unfortunately was canx due to snow) and we had an e-mail from the generic admissions address, letting us know it was canx. Again, at the bottom, it said “your AU ID is…” Unless someone else here has better insight, you may need to call admissions for your 7 digit ID. Sorry I can’t be of better assistance.

Just got worried, but I was able to login once I used the login with @ student.american.edu

@september901 I was able to make the gmail account and log on

@HappyFace2018 I was also able to see the parents authorization info.
@myjanda @anothermuggle I can access financial aid but I cant find/see the award letter

Finding out whether or not this works will be very interesting. I’m surprised that the AU admissions staff monitoring this page hasn’t disabled the ability to create an account until after a certain date. My D has decided that if she is not offered a spot in the SIS Global Scholars she will not attend AU.

I can’t decide if I want to try to make an account or not???

@egaliteoulamort Here’s the thing…doing so does not commit you to anything. If it works it’s a great feeling. If it doesn’t then either you didn’t get in (or your gonna have a great surprise at the beginning of April). The great thing is you’ve applied to other colleges and your gonna be successful whatever happens.

I’ve tried to log in, but it won’t let me. Yet I feel that I have been accepted. I really do hope it works soon…

when do we find out

@lazaruseproject ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@happyface2018, as I’ve mentioned before, my daughter was able to log into her account before getting an official email when she applied in 2014, so AU must know about this by now and apparently it doesn’t bother them. The details are a bit fuzzy at the moment but I think we probably didn’t try this until mid March 2014 because the FA info was definitely there by then and other people were also successful in getting this info.

@myjanda Okay…thanks for that.

Also, @HappyFace2018 Thank you, that’s a good way of looking at it! I guess I’ll probably try it today or tomorrow when I can emotionally prepare myself adequately, haha.
